Gabi Dezan, the Life Coach of the Stars, gives special tips for those who want to lose weight

Gabi Dezan, known as the Life Coach to the stars, has put together a super special diet tip for anyone who is thinking about shedding those unwanted pounds and adopting a healthier lifestyle.

The bodybuilder who has looked after names like Fernanda Vaconcellos, Tania Mara, Nívea Stelmann and Cassiane Valadão, among others, explained that one of the big secrets is not breaking the diet until you reach your goal.

“The number one tip I give to anyone who wants to lose weight is: Don’t break your diet until you reach your goal. It doesn’t mean that if you eat one free meal during the week, you won’t get results, but the results will be slower and you will be discouraged if you don’t see results soon. Once this is done, valuable tips for successful dieting are: drinking at least 3 liters of water per day, weighing your food before eating, associating the diet with physical exercise (I am in favor of weight training and aerobic exercise).”

She continues: “Try to eat from time to time (about 2 to 3 hours between meals). Not that this is a rule, but I believe that the hunger factor is one of the main reasons why we break the diet or eat something that is not on it or exceed the quantities in a future meal, so it is more of a strategy that I think is good to stay well fed throughout of the day. Not eating sugar, fried foods, alcohol, I think it’s something that goes without saying” teaches Gabi Dezan.

Graduated in Physical Education, Life Coach is keen to highlight that lack of knowledge is one of the biggest causes of a sedentary lifestyle. Gabi preaches that awareness is the best weapon for people to understand the need to take care of their bodies, not only with a healthy diet, but also with daily physical exercise.

“I believe that there is a lack of awareness and knowledge among the general public about physical activity and diet not being an option but an obligation. Because it is about health, our most precious asset. It doesn’t matter if you are thin or overweight, eating well is for everyone,” she explains.

Skinny vs. little fat

“What changes in the plan for a skinny person or a chubby person is only the amount of food they eat and the intensity of exercise they perform. But the population needs to understand and accept this as an obligation. I always compare it to work! You have to wake up early every day to go to work, whether you like it or not, willing or not, tired or not. Because working is not an option, it is a duty, it is a necessity. So it is with our health. Once this is understood, the label ‘diet’ becomes a lifestyle, it becomes something natural.”

Knowing the uniqueness of each individual, Gabi Dezan spoke about the peculiarities of each type of physique and how each person should follow a diet plan:

“But as I know a lot of people don’t like to eat the same thing every day, or they don’t like to do the same exercises, the same things every day. The suggestion is to vary. Come up with delicious recipes, change the preparation of food, change the seasoning. Use natural seasonings such as basil, chives, garlic, onion, curry, ginger, cinnamon. Make eating something pleasurable.”

“For example, I usually eat a lot of egg whites and sweet potatoes as they are great sources of protein and carbohydrates respectively. So I invent! An example of one of the inventions is my little pancake in which I beat the egg whites, with cinnamon and sweet potatoes cooked in a blender and with this dough I make a kind of cupcake that can be made in the frying pan, microwave or oven. Another tip for those who get sick of the same environment every day, try to vary your activities. Go for a bike ride one day, a run another day. Dance, swim. But don’t stand still. Your body needs activity.”
