Who is Anita?

Anitta is actually Larissa de Macedo Machado, she was born on March 30, 1993, in Honório Gurgel, a suburb in the North Zone of Rio de Janeiro. Interestingly, her artistic name came from the miniseries “A Presença de Anitta”, on TV Globo, as the artist thought the character was incredible.

The singer is the youngest daughter of Miriam Macedo, an artisan from Paraíba, and Mauro Machado, a salesman from Minas Gerais. Furthermore, she has a brother, Renan Machado, who is her artistic producer.

Anitta started singing when she was 8 years old, because, through the intervention of her maternal grandparents, she participated in the choir at the Santa Luzia Church in the Honório Gurgel neighborhood.

In 2009, at the age of 16, she began publishing videos of her music and dances on her YouTube channel. At the same time, she completed Technical High School in Administration at the Instituto Superior de Educação do Rio de Janeiro (ISERJ / FAETEC).

Anitta’s parents separated when she was 1 year and 8 months old, so her father moved to the Lagos Region, on the coast of Rio de Janeiro.

In 2019, Anitta discovered that she had a brother on her father’s side, called Felipe Terra, whom the family did not know. According to the singer, it was she who went after her brother, as Felipe’s mother and Anitta’s father lost contact. Anyway, she and her brother share a harmonious family union, in addition, he gets along well with everyone in the singer’s family.
