Where to stay in Mexico City – this was the question that writer Thalita Rebouças had when she decided to go to the country. A friend and follower of the blog, she got in touch with us and we quickly helped her stay at the Hotel Marquis Reforma. Follow your experience in one of the best hotels in DF here.
I started my trip in Mexico City and followed to the letter all the tips I read on You Must Go, so much so that I stayed at the sensational Hotel Marquis Reforma. The only establishment in the city under the Leading Hotels of the World brand. It opened more than twenty years ago and everything there looks like a movie! Staff always wearing smiles, elevators (I went crazy in the elevators), wonderful gym, room, breakfast, beautiful view and comfort.
Where to stay in Mexico City
The Hotel Marquis Reforma has a great location on Paseo de la Reforma, one of the city’s main avenues. From there, you can walk to some of the most important museums in Mexico City, as well as being close to the coolest neighborhoods, with a variety of restaurants and shops.

There are 209 very spacious rooms, with plasma TV, Nespresso coffee maker and a good bathroom with shower and bathtub. The decor mixes vintage and modern styles, which gives the hotel an added charm. Definitely an excellent option for where to stay in Mexico City.

Bar and Restaurants
The hotel has three restaurants: Los Canarios, which opens for breakfast and offers a menu that mixes Spanish and Mexican cuisine, Market Gourmet Café, in the lobby, which also opens for coffee, and La Cuchara De San Sebastián, specializing in tapas and located on the hotel’s terrace with a beautiful view.

And the hotel has Sikeiros, a sports bar with a pleasant balcony ideal for having drinks. The palm trees, our good old popcorn is served to accompany drinks, shots and beers. In fact, try the artisanal ones. Instead of Corona and Sol, give a chance to Pacifico, good, beautiful and cheap and much better than its famous cousins.

It was at Sikeiros that I drank mezcal for the first time. First of many (although the next morning I swore up and down that I would never drink that diablo drink again. Lol). I’m not a fan of spirits and tequila has never enchanted me. But the mezcal… Ah, the mezcal! I only say one thing: drink in moderation. I first went for the shot, I found it strong but tasty, but soon I moved on to something “lighter” (silly), a cocktail with lemon, mint and ginger made with the drink that comes from cacti.

Remember me when you try Mezcal. In Mexico, drinks made with this drink look like juices, but they are not. Summary of the opera: I ended the night singing Thalía (singing and dancing. Ok, dancing more than singing — don’t judge me, it’s Mezcal’s fault). Oh yes! The bar has karaoke with a very strong and patient gentleman on the piano! Didn’t I say the hotel was perfect? It was an unusual, unexpected and unforgettable night (well, the part I remember was unforgettable).

The Spa
Like every 5-star hotel, of course the Spa could not be missed. The only one with a Leading Spa certificate in the city, the Spa Marquis It is 1,500 meters long, offering a variety of treatments, including shiatsu and Egyptian bath, sauna and heated pool, meditation and Chi-Kung classes, as well as ritual baths. A fitness center and an equipped beauty salon are also available, both open to non-guests.
