Do you know what verrine is? Verrine is not a dish but a way of presenting a dish that is nothing more than layered food, usually served in a glass or transparent glass container so that the layers are visible.
The origin
For those who don’t know, verrine comes from French and means “glass” or “cup”, which is why I like to make verrines with recipes “that shine in your eyes” such as desserts, appetizers and starter dishes.
They can be sweet or savory and are made up of alternating layers of different ingredients, such as creams, mousses, fruits, jams, yogurt, biscuits, pieces of meat or vegetables.
But that doesn’t mean it needs to be difficult.
My Verrine Recipe
Whenever I can, I combine flavors, textures and colors in a single place that can be seen first, then tasted. It is generally used on special occasions such as buffets, parties and events, as they visually impress guests in addition to being very easy to make.
You can find desserts such as tiramisu in glasses, fruit parfait, trifle and layered chocolate mousse. Creativity when assembling verrines is practically limitless, and you can customize them according to the colors, your tastes and available ingredients.
Simple, Beautiful and Fast
Think of a salad served in a special and different way, so just to show you how easy it is, I gathered the most colorful vegetables I had, separated them into jars and then made a cream with cream cheese and mustard and sprinkled a little on top.
