I looooove mulled wine! In this cold period + June festivities I really throw myself in! In some regions the hot wine it’s called quentão, which for us here in the Southeast is another drink (which I also love!) So write down the recipe and play along too! How easy:
Bring to a boil in a pan: 1 cup (American type) of sugar + 2 cups (American type) of water + 2 cinnamon sticks + 10 cloves. I added 1 dessert spoon of powdered ginger on my own.
After it boils, count 5 minutes, remove from the heat and strain. Return the liquid to the pan, add 1 chopped unpeeled apple and let it boil for another 2 minutes. Add a bottle of dry red wine. If you want a weaker drink, let it boil for 5 minutes to evaporate the alcohol. As this isn’t my case, I only left it for 1 minute (it’s dripping!).
