News

Opened for the 1950 World Cup, Miramar by Windsor is a luxury hotel in Copacabana that has known how to renew itself over the decades. Located in station 5, it has a stunning view of Copacabana beach, both from the rooms and the pool. And what’s more, that’s where Alloro is, an Italian haute cuisine restaurant. A charming boutique hotel, with comfortable rooms, reopened in September and follows the new WHO protocols. I just stayed there, and you can check out the experience below. The protocols

The hotel returned to its activities with the guidance of a specialized technical consultancy that took care of the implementation of all protocols from the Ministry of Health, the World Health Organization (WHO) and state and municipal authorities. The aim is to offer comfort and safety to guests by adopting the best prevention practices against the new coronavirus (COVID – 19). Therefore, it is operating at 70% capacity and in addition, the rooms are rigorously sanitized, so that they are only released after 72 hours of cleaning, for the next guest.

The accommodations

Miramar by Windsor has 200 comfortable apartments and suites, with sophisticated decor and sea views. The superior and standard categories have a partial view, while the superior executive and luxury suite categories have a sea view! Anyone who needs to work during their stay need not worry, as the rooms are prepared for this. There is a desk in all of them and the wi fi free works great.

The hotel project is designed by architect and interior designer Paola Ribeiro, who mixes classic and contemporary influences. The emphasis is on noble materials, such as wood, exotic marble, mirrors and crystals. The bathrooms have black lacquer details, marble walls and floors. And the view, breathtaking! In fact, it’s worth remembering that windows can be opened, liberating, in times of pandemic. Bathrobes and slippers are also available.

The swimming pool of the luxury hotel in Copacabana

The swimming pool, certainly one of the highlights of Miramar with the most beautiful views of Copacabana, is open by appointment at reception. The guest must follow all measures, just like in the sauna and gym. Sun loungers, tables and chairs maintain a minimum distance of 2 meters and are sanitized before and after use by each customer. The environment is sanitized every three hours and the pool water quality control is checked three times a day, measuring chlorine, PH and alkalinity. There is also a bar, a solarium and a fitness room. For now, the beach service is the only one that remains suspended, as the beach is not open. Once you reach the 16th floor, it’s difficult to take your eyes off this view blessed by nature.

So, how about this pool?

O restaurante Alloro

Anyone who follows me knows how passionate I am about hotels and I really like to make the most of the property. Therefore, when I know that gastronomy is taken seriously, I feel a mix of relief and happiness. After all, there’s nothing better than not having to leave the hotel to have a good dinner! And in this regard, the luxury hotel in Copacabana scores 10 with the Alloro al Miramar restaurant. Authentic Italian, led by chef Renato Ialenti, the menu offers salads, soups, pastas, meats, fish and tasty desserts.
