How to make Dutch pie?

Sweet cakes and pies

A dutch cake It’s a dessert at the same time, smooth and crunchy. Therefore, for those who love to innovate in the kitchen and in recipes, it is worth discovering how to prepare this very tasty sweet.

How to make Dutch pie?

For the Dutch pie, you will need items such as biscuits or cornstarch. As well as other ingredients such as:

  • 150 grams of cornstarch biscuits or milk (about 2/3 of the package);
  • 100 grams of unsalted butter.

For the side decoration, you will need 1 package of round biscuits with chocolate coverage (or the “tart” type).

For the white cream, in turn, separate the following:

  • 200 g of unsalted butter;
  • 1 cup of refined sugar (or 160g);
  • 500 ml of cold, whey-free regular cream;
  • 3 tablespoons of vanilla essence.

As for the topping (chocolate ganache), it requires items such as:

  • 200 g of whey-free cream (1 box);
  • 170 g of semi-sweet chocolate (1 bar).

How to prepare the base

Grind the biscuit in a blender or processor and mix with the butter to form a moist crumb.

Ideally, the butter should be softened (to the point where it resembles an ointment). Line a baking tray with a removable bottom with this flour, pressing it well.

Brush a little oil on the sides of the mold to help when unmolding and arrange the chocolate cookies around the mold.

Remember that the part with the chocolate must face outwards. Place in the fridge for half an hour to make the base firm.

Make the pie cream

Beat the butter (which should be a little softened, but still cold) and sugar in a mixer until you get an almost white cream.

Add the cream (which must be cold) and vanilla essence and beat again to mix well.

If there are lumps, use a blender or mixer. Place the white cream over the dough and refrigerate for two hours.

How to prepare the topping

Heat the cream and chocolate in the microwave at full power, stopping every 20 seconds and mixing until the ingredients are incorporated or place over low heat.

Stir constantly, until it becomes a chocolate cream. Wait for it to cool until it reaches room temperature and place it over the white cream.

The ideal is to keep it in the fridge for about 6 hours before serving so that it is very firm, even better to do it the day before serving. Eat in moderation, because it is VERY high in calories, but equally delicious.

Note about this recipe

I researched several recipes before testing this one, they were all very similar, I tried it and it worked straight away, it was great. I did it twice and everything was fine both times. Many people tried it, some got it right and some didn’t.

I wish I had an answer for cases where the pie didn’t set, but I really don’t know what to say since I haven’t had any problems with the recipe.

So, I’m going to leave a suggestion for people who are going to try the recipe for the first time not to risk having a soft pie.

The white cream, as soon as we mix the cold cream, has the consistency of firm porridge.

If yours doesn’t stick, mix 1 packet of colorless gelatin prepared according to the package (beat with a mixer together) and refrigerate.

What are the crucial steps when making Dutch pie?

All stages of preparing the Dutch pie require a certain amount of care, such as decoration. So, see which aspects you cannot fail to pay attention to at all.

Decoration

The decoration is a big eye-catcher when talking about this type of recipe. So, in this case, it is essential to have a chocolate-covered cookie.

This way, you invest in a stronger flavor and don’t neglect the beauty of the pie itself.

White cream

When making the cream, you can use sweetener, but keep in mind that this will affect the creaminess. After all, sugar is responsible for making it creamier and with an interesting texture.

Whey-free milk also makes a huge difference. Otherwise, this will hinder the good performance of the recipe. Furthermore, the vanilla essence adds a special touch, although it is not mandatory.

Roof

When making the topping, pay attention to whey-free milk as well. However, here you must be extra careful. Therefore, it is recommended to use semi-sweet chocolate.

Remember that this is a dessert full of elements. So, this type of chocolate will balance the sweetness a little. This way, nothing is overdone at the end of it all.

Base

Follow all the steps mentioned here to make the base. After all, without it your pie won’t be sustainable. However, there is no need to worry, as everything is very simple.
