ToTo is certainly another important addition to the Rio’s gastronomic scene! Chef Thomas Troisgros’ new restaurant is located in the heart of Ipanema, in a mansion in Praça Nossa Senhora da Paz. At the head of several successful restaurants, such as TT Burguer, CT Boucherie, and Le Blond, ToTo is the first house he commands alone. In it, Thomas brings affectionate recipes and uncomplicated food, with culinary influences from countries that the chef himself admires and flavors that he loves. We have already visited and we can say that the dishes are very tasty! Furthermore, the atmosphere is bold and cozy at the same time, with a beautiful central bar and an open kitchen. In other words, something new in Ipanema that you need to know!
And soon, on the second floor, the chef will open Oseille (in French it means sorrel, a leaf that is a classic in Troisgros cuisine), but with a different proposal, just for dinner, with a 16-seat counter and tasting menu .

New restaurant by chef Thomas Troisgros
Thomas is part of the fourth generation of the Troisgros family, well known for its influence on French cuisine in Brazil. He grew up immersed in gastronomy, with influences from his grandfather, Pierre Troisgros, his uncle, Michel, and his father, Claude. Therefore, he carries his passion for gastronomy in his DNA and masterfully puts this gift into contemporary dishes. ToTo, in Ipanema.

The bold architectural project signed by TADU Arquitetura has an industrial style, and was inspired by the concept that emerged in the 90s, Bistronomie. Modern and welcoming, with the use of wood on the tables and ceiling, it reminded us of the restaurants in Soho, a cool neighborhood in New York.

The ToTo menu
On the menu, recipes that bring the chef’s different gastronomic experiences around the world, as well as his affectionate memories. To begin with, the starters are ideal for sharing, such as the roast rib gyoza with kimchi (R$30) and the chicken heart with oyster sauce (R$48). We also loved the chicken wings with orange gastrique (R$36) and the hummus of the day with warm pita bread (R$28).

Among the main ones, options for all tastes, from pasta and meat, to fish and seafood. Highlights include the Milanese pork Prime Rib with root salad and egg mayonnaise (R$88) and the delicious Rib Rice with tahini aioli and grilled romaine lettuce (R$82). Meanwhile, the Roasted Galeto (R$86) with Pierre Troisgros sauce, mushrooms and broccoli is more than approved.
