Homemade disinfectant recipes
1- Bactericidal disinfectant
To make a powerful disinfectant that can fight and kill bacteria you will need:
- 4.4 liters of water
- 200 ml liquid detergent
- 200 ml of alcohol 46.2°
- 180 ml hydrogen peroxide 40 volumes (2 small bottles)
- 2 spoons of baking soda (30 grams)
- 20 ml of essence
First, pour half the water into a bucket. Then mix the baking soda until dissolved. Now, add the alcohol and mix some more.
In the same way, add hydrogen peroxide, which will have a germicidal function. Stir again. Afterwards, pour in the detergent and stir some more. Add the essence and mix. Therefore, just pour the rest of the water, mix well and bottle. Makes 5 liters.
2- Homemade lavender disinfectant
According to several studies, the aroma of lavender is capable of relaxing and increasing our well-being. So, if you want that, to make a disinfectant with that smell, all you need to do is:
- 1.8 liters of water
- 30 ml of essence
- 90 ml of hydrogen peroxide 40 volumes
- 50 ml blue detergent
- 50 ml red detergent
- 30 ml of essence or concentrated air freshener
First of all, dilute the red detergent in water and set aside. However, as it is oily, the essence may not mix with water. So, instead of pouring the essence directly into the jar, mix it with the blue detergent first. Therefore, when the two ingredients are well combined, pour the mixture into the jug and stir well.
This way, mix the hydrogen peroxide and stir some more. The disinfectant will be cloudy, but after 2 or 3 days it will become clear again. Bottle the lavender disinfectant and wait for the transparency to return before you can use it.
3- Scented homemade disinfectant (of your choice)
If you want your home to have a specific smell, we have the solution. In summary, you will need:
- 19 liters of water
- ½ liter of alcohol vinegar
- 200 ml of chlorine or candida
- 200 ml fabric softener (leave the floor shiny)
- 150 ml of concentrated air freshener or the essence of your choice
- 1 scented soap (90 grams)
- 2 tablespoons of baking soda
- 2 tablespoons of ammonia or 100 ml of liquid ammonia
- Dye (optional)
Beforehand, grate the soap and place it in a pan. And now, melt the soap and put the pan on the fire (for 5 to 8 minutes) with 1 liter of hot water. So, stir constantly with a wooden spoon to avoid spilling. Then remove the pan from the heat and pour the mixture into a bucket or basin. Add the vinegar, candida (or chlorine), fabric softener, ammonia and baking soda. Add one ingredient at a time and stir constantly with a wooden spoon or wooden stick.
When all ingredients are fully diluted, add the rest of the water (at room temperature) and stir well. Add the essence of your choice and the coloring, if you want to accentuate the color of your homemade disinfectant. It will be colorless, like those bought in the supermarket. However, if it is foaming a lot, add a little more vinegar to cut the foam. Fill the product with the help of a funnel.
Natural homemade disinfectant with cloves
To make your all-natural homemade disinfectant with special clove seasoning, you will need:
- 1 package of cloves
- 1 glass of vinegar
- 2 tablespoons of bicarbonate
- 1 empty pet bottle
This recipe is super simple. First you will pour the vinegar into the empty bottle. Then add the bicarbonate and cloves. So, let it rest for a few hours, until the liquid turns reddish in color. And that’s it, your disinfectant can now be used.
This recipe is great for fighting mosquitoes, ants and mold.
Homemade disinfectant with fabric softener
Who doesn’t love that delicious smell of clean clothes? Well, you can have it in your homemade disinfectant. Therefore, to do this, you will need:
- 20L of cold water
- 1 bottle of detergent
- 4 tablespoons of baking soda
- 500ml vinegar
- 200 ml of alcohol
- 1 capful of concentrated fabric softener
- 2L of disinfectant of your choice
First of all, in a large bucket, mix the cold water and detergent. Then add the baking soda and continue stirring. Then, add the alcohol vinegar, alcohol, fabric softener and disinfectant of your choice to the mixture. Finally, mix everything for 2 minutes and distribute the liquid into smaller containers. This will make it easier to use the disinfectant on a daily basis.
Homemade eucalyptus disinfectant
From the same point of view, eucalyptus is one of the most common scents among cleaning products. Therefore, to make yours, you will need:
- 30 eucalyptus leaves
- 300 ml of alcohol 70%
- 1L of water
- 200ml of detergent
Therefore, to prepare it, you will first add the eucalyptus leaves to alcohol and let them soak for four days. Therefore, you will need to stir them once a day. After that, you will basically need to remove the leaves from the mixture and add it to a container with 1L of water and 200 ml of detergent. Therefore, mix these components well and that’s it.
Lemon disinfectant
Lemon is one of the most acidic fruits and has one of the highest pH values in nature. Therefore, it is also an excellent antibacterial. Therefore, it is a great option to add to your homemade disinfectant. To do this you must have:
- 15 lemon carcasses
- 1.5L of water
- ½ cup of 46º ethyl alcohol
To prepare, first add 1.5 L of water to a container with the peels and let it rest for 24 hours. After this time, add the reserved contents to the blender until it becomes a paste. Therefore, strain the mixture in a fine strainer, separating all the liquid. In the meantime, reserve this liquid for 24 hours to ferment. Finally, finish by adding ½ cup of 46º ethyl alcohol and shake.
Orange disinfectant
Orange is another citrus substance that is capable of promoting delicious aromas. If you want to have it in your disinfectant, just have:
- 4 orange peels
- 5L of water
- 2 tablespoons of baking soda
- 100ml vinegar
- 200ml fabric softener
- 250ml pine sol
- 100ml of alcohol
Now, for production, you first boil the orange peels in 700 ml of water. Once cool, blend everything in a blender. Pass this mixture through a sieve, so that you can only use the juice.
Later, in another container, add the water and baking soda. So, to this mixture add 500 ml of orange juice, previously strained. Then add the vinegar, fabric softener and pine sol. In conclusion: Finish with alcohol, to help preserve the mixture, as it was made with the fruit peel.
