Summer is coming and the heat increases every day in a large part of the Brazilian territory. This means that people who do physical activities have to adapt to the hotter climate both in terms of nutrition and hydration.

Model Yasmin Castrillon, who is considered the true “Fitness Indian” for being born in Manaus and being the great-granddaughter of an Indian from the Parintintins tribe, details what clothes she wears to work out at the gym during spring and summer.

“I like training in thermal leggings during this hot period. This way I don’t feel as hot in my legs and butt. On top, I like to wear a top to make me feel more comfortable”, says the brunette who has a 95cm bust, 70cm waist and 100cm buttocks spread across her 1.70m height.

Hydration

Yasmin Castrillon says she usually drinks plenty of water regardless of the season, but says she worries even more about hydration during spring and summer.

“The exact moment I wake up I go to the fridge to drink my first glass of water. And I drink water always, constantly, all day long. But the time I drink the most water is during training. This is because I need to replace what I am using up during intense exercise.”

Physical activities

Accustomed to waking up very early, the true “Fitness India”, however, does not change her physical activity routine much.

“Training from Monday to Saturday AEJ (fasted aerobics) punctually from 6am to 7am. Before that, I drink water with lemon and a little ginger. This gives a shock to the fat and together with the AEJ it burns all day.”

“At the end of AEJ, I have my first meal of the day. Always protein with a little bit of carbohydrate, which is the famous ‘low carb’, to give you another dry, more polished shape. To keep it dry, but with density. I keep weight training at 3pm.”

The fitness model currently lives in João Pessoa, capital of Paraíba, and surfs whenever she finds some time. She details the teas she drinks to keep her body dry and emphasizes that it is not recommended to race against time to get fit for the summer.

“As for teas, I use Xpel, I drink a lot of hibiscus tea and Xtea, which are trendy and I really like them. You complement the teas with food, AEJ and weight training, you will have the complete set to reach top in the summer.”

“Although my whole year is like this, with training and care. Unlike many girls I know and I see who don’t do anything and as it gets closer to summer they start to despair and say: ‘Oh, I want to dry out for the summer’.

That doesn’t exist with me! I always take care of myself and when summer arrives I have a top body, a top shape. Summer is built all year long.”
