For some time now, the planet has been waiting for the great event that is the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

Millions and millions of people yearn to cheer, cheer and celebrate the victories of their favorite team.

There are just a few days left until one of the biggest competitions in the world, and yet, a question still hangs in the air among Brazilians: will there be any holidays during the World Cup?

How will formal workers – and even informal workers – be able to watch the games?

Thinking about helping people understand the dates and events related to whether or not they have time off on those days, we checked the Government calendar to find out if we will have any holidays, optional periods or if workers will need to make some type of agreement with their employers so that, at the same time, At least, put on a television to cheer for Brazil.

Is it possible that there will be a holiday during the 2018 World Cup?

No. The straight answer is really bad.

However, even if supporting the team is essential, with football being the national passion, there are no legal precepts that require that match days be declared a holiday or an optional point.

The calendar of holidays and optional points for 2018 is planned and published in 2017, regardless of this type of event, and there is no reference to days off for the country.

But not everything is lost.

There may not be a national holiday scheduled, but States and City Halls can declare a holiday or optional holiday, through bills.

Can workers negotiate time off to watch games?

Whether or not the city has a holiday decree or optional period, it is possible to negotiate with the company time off or alternative means of watching the team play.

Just make an agreement with the supervisor, preferably in writing so that neither party has any problems later.

Stay up to date with Brazil’s game days at the 2018 World Cup

All times are according to Brasília time.

– Brazil x Switzerland – Sunday: June 17, 3 pm.

– Brazil x Costa Rica – Friday: June 22, 9 am.

– Brazil x Serbia – Wednesday: June 27th, 3 pm.

If Brazil qualifies, it will enter the field again on Monday or Tuesday (July 2nd or 3rd).

The quarterfinals will take place on Friday and Saturday (July 6th and 7th).

The semi-finals will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday (July 10th and 11th).

The final will take place on Sunday (July 15).
