The Landmark, sophisticated five-star hotel in London

News

I have just stayed at The Landmark, one of the most elegant and sophisticated hotels in London. With the Leading Hotels of the World seal, it is close to Regent’s Park and, in fact, has a lot of history and references in terms of hospitality. In other words, with its imposing red façade, from 1899, it was opened at the time as the Grand Central Hotel and became a Landmark in 1993. The rooms are splendid, in fact, it is one of the hotels with the largest accommodation in the capital, the service is impeccable and excellent cuisine. Therefore, I tell you below, in detail, my experience at this iconic five-star hotel in London!

Location

The Landmark is located outside the tourist hustle and bustle of London, in the Marylebone region, a cool and exclusive neighborhood. In fact, a location that is not obvious but very interesting! A 15-minute walk from the hotel takes you to Marylebone Street, which has several shops, bars, restaurants and cafes. In other words, a charm! Additionally, The Landmark is also close to metro stations.

With sky-high ceilings and a grand entrance, in the lobby we come across beautiful flower arrangements. Furthermore, in the heart of the hotel, a magnificent winter garden, the Winter Garden, complete with a piano and a patio with a glass roof. The large space is filled with huge palm trees that stretch across the floors!

This is where breakfast is served, with a variety of bread, cold cuts, sweets and eggs. Open for lunch and dinner, this is also where the classic afternoon tea (£78) takes place every day.

The Landmark also has a Spa, with a good-sized swimming pool, treatment room and well-equipped gym.

The rooms

My Marylebone Suite was spacious and elegant, with an anteroom with a desk, Smart TV, Nespresso coffee maker and sofa. The decor was classic, with light tones and gray walls. In the bedroom, there was a great king size bed and another TV in a spacious room! Oh, the closets were a great size too.

Meanwhile, the excellent bathroom, all in marble, had two sinks, and a separate bathtub and shower!

The bars

The Mirror Bar has a more intimate atmosphere and offers a variety of cocktails, ideal for before or after dinner. The Great Central Pub by Matt Fletcher follows the mold of a typical London pub, with a cozy atmosphere, serving old pub classics with a modern touch.

It was certainly a dream come true to stay at The Landmark! A mandatory stop for those who like luxury and sophisticated accommodation. Therefore, it is definitely worth visiting this iconic hotel in London, even if just to have a drink at the bar or go to the restaurant!
