Calming teas are made from plants or herbs with calming, anti-stress properties, facilitating sleep and relaxation.

1. Chamomile tea
Chamomile tea is one of the best teas to calm down, generally used in situations of stress and insomnia. According to some studies, the chamomile plant has sedative properties, thus helping to induce sleep. Combined with mint, it can become a powerful nutritious and highly relaxing tea, as they are sources of vitamins A and complex B. So, together, they act as antioxidants in the body, further enhancing the treatment against stress and anxiety.
To make the tea, you will need to boil half a liter of water for 1 (one) cup of coffee with dried chamomile flowers. First you boil it, then add the flowers and let it rest for about fifteen minutes, and your soothing tea is ready!
2. Valerian tea
If you have the habit of waking up frequently during your sleep, this tea was made for you. Also known as catnip, valerian tea has a calming effect and stimulates sleep, suitable for people with agitation, phobia or anxiety problems. According to studies, valerian releases substances that increase the amount of GABA, a neurotransmitter responsible for calming the nervous system, therefore helping to relax the body.
In this sense, the benefits don’t stop there: if your problem is colic, valerian soothing teas, if consumed frequently, can prevent menstrual pain.
Finally, the measurements for the calming tea are: 1 tablespoon of valerian root for every half liter of boiling water. After straining it is ready to serve.
3. Teas to calm: Lemon balm tea
Similar to chamomile, the calming tea made from lemon balm is recommended for people who have sleep disorders, nervousness and anxiety. This herb is rich in polyphenols, terpenes, tannins, flavonoids, rosmarinic acid and caffeic acid and stands out for its antioxidant action.
Also called melissa, lemon balm tea has the following measurements: for every 1 (one) liter of water, 2 (two) cups of chopped mint tea, 5 (five) lemon balm leaves and sugar to taste . Boil everything in a pan, strain and serve.
4. Passionflower or passion flower tea
Passion fruit flower tea, also known as passionflower tea, is rich in flavonoids, with the aim of having a relaxing action on the nervous system, helping to treat stress and anxiety. Just like passion fruit juice, tea made from the plant has a calming effect, it is no wonder that when someone is nervous there is the popular saying “drink a passion fruit tea that passes”.
To consume, the recipe is as follows: add 2 (two) teaspoons of dried passionflower to a cup of boiling water and let it rest for 10 (ten) minutes. Once done, strain and you can now drink.
5. Lettuce tea
It may surprise many, but lettuce tea is perfect for babies over six months to relax, and can also be used during pregnancy. It has a sedative effect, while calming the mood, making it one of the best teas to calm down. Its preparation method is very easy, just boil around 200ml of water with 7 (seven) lettuce leaves, then strain, wait for it to cool and you can drink it.

Rosemary is a powerful aromatic herb used for seasonings and drinks, but it is also rich in vitamins A, C, fiber, calcium and potassium. It acts on our nervous system as a kind of antidepressant, in such a way that it wards off stress, anxiety and tiredness.
To consume this calming tea, boil 1 (one) liter of water, add rosemary leaves to taste and let it boil for another five minutes. Then just strain, drink the tea and relax!
7. St. John’s wort or St. John’s wort tea
St. John’s Wort or St. John’s Wort is a plant that contains substances such as hypericin and hyperforin, which act on the central nervous system, with a calming and relaxing effect. Therefore, tea made from this plant is used to treat depression, anxiety and insomnia. Furthermore, it can be used in the form of a compress to treat muscle pain and rheumatism.
Its preparation is very easy, just mix 3g of the herb in 250ml of boiling water, strain and let it cool for a few minutes and it’s ready to drink. Its consumption is preferable after meals, being taken three times a day.
8. Teas to calm: Linden tea
Also called tago, teja and texa, Linden has calming properties, as well as helping to treat nervous system disorders from stress and anxiety to hysteria.
In boiling water, just add 5 (five) dried linden flowers and leaves to 150ml of boiling water. Once done, cover and let it rest for a few minutes, then strain and you can now drink it between two and four times a day.

Lavender doesn’t just have a beneficial aroma. In other words, tea made from this plant helps those who have problems with insomnia, stress and headaches. This is due to its properties that help relax the muscles and even the mind.
To consume, the preparation is made by infusing the leaves of the plant and then straining it before drinking. To enhance the effect, simply add chamomile and lemon drops.
