This recipe came from Presidente Prudente. My friend Lara sent it to me by email.
Nina, Lara and Igor, all siblings with little age difference, were part of my childhood and adolescence. In the house of these dear people I ate the best bread with salami and cream cheese in the world! Baked in the electric oven! There was also iced stroganoff with cream cracker biscuits (I bet you didn’t remember that one)! And Nina’s brigadeiros (with crunch)? Note that the crunch is because it burned and stuck to the pan! hahahaha…. Great memories!!!!

The original recipe was a mousse with hot syrup. But I had to adapt it because I was going to take it to a friend’s house and there’s always that fear of it breaking when unmolding it, so I made individual portions. Here’s Lara’s email:

“Tati, it’s me teasing you again…. (by the way, I’ve teased you all my life, after seeing you too???) look at the recipe I was going to give you, it’s very “mobral”, it’s for those who never go to the kitchen, it’s a cheese mousse with guava, just look:

2 pots of cottage cheese;
1 liter of condensed milk;
1 liter of whey-free cream;
1/2 piece of unflavored gelatin dissolved in half a cup of water.

Blend everything in a blender and refrigerate. Before serving, melt a bowl of guava paste (the kind from the supermarket) with a little water and serve the cold mousse with the hot melted guava paste…. Look, it’s delicious, every time I’ve made it, it’s been a success!!!!!!!”
