Online Pregnancy Test: are you pregnant?

Pregnancy

The online pregnancy test is a practical and simple tool to assess a woman’s chances of being pregnant, based on the evaluation of some signs, symptoms and behaviors.

There are greater chances of getting pregnant when you have unprotected sexual intercourse during the fertile period, as this greatly increases the chances of sperm reaching a mature egg, resulting in fertilization and pregnancy.

Answer the questions in this online pregnancy test to find out your chances of being pregnant:

Whenever pregnancy is suspected, it is recommended to take a pharmacy pregnancy test or consult a gynecologist.

What increases the chances of pregnancy?

The chances of pregnancy increase when a woman has sexual intercourse during her fertile period and does not use contraceptive methods, such as condoms, pills, contraceptive patches or IUDs, for example. Furthermore, when a woman changes her contraceptive method or forgets to take the pill, for example, there is also a chance of becoming pregnant.

However, for pregnancy to be a possibility, the woman needs to be in her fertile period, which lasts an average of 6 days and occurs between 10 and 14 days after the first day of menstruation. See more about the fertile period.

How to confirm if it is pregnancy

To confirm pregnancy, it is important that the woman is aware of the presence of symptoms and performs a pharmacy and blood test to confirm the pregnancy. For this, it is very important to consult a gynecologist.

First pregnancy symptoms

The first sign of pregnancy is a delay in menstruation, which can be noticed more easily in women who have a more regular menstrual cycle. Furthermore, some women may present other symptoms that arise as a result of fertilization and the implantation of the embryo in the uterus, the main ones being:

  • Pinkish vaginal discharge;
  • Abdominal cramps and/or bloating;
  • Increased urge to urinate;
  • Nausea;
  • Dizziness;
  • Easy fatigue;
  • More sensitive breasts.

In addition, the woman may also notice thicker vaginal discharge and pain in the lower back, for example, and it is recommended that a pregnancy test be carried out to confirm the pregnancy. Learn about other early pregnancy symptoms.

Pharmacy pregnancy test

The pharmacy pregnancy test is a quick way to find out whether you are pregnant or not, and is recommended to be carried out from the first day of your missed period. This test measures the amount of beta hCG in urine, which is a hormone that is produced in greater quantities during pregnancy.

Therefore, to carry out this test, it is recommended that the woman pee in the container that comes in the test kit, and it is recommended that the first urine of the morning be collected, as it is more concentrated. Then, she must wet the reagent strip in the urine and then wait about 5 minutes to see if there was a reaction. A positive result is indicated when two lines appear on the test strip.

If only one line is observed, the test is said to be negative, however, if the woman has signs and symptoms of pregnancy, it is recommended to redo the test after 3 to 5 days, as there is a higher concentration of circulating beta HCG. Understand more about the pharmacy pregnancy test.

Laboratory Test

The laboratory test is the most suitable test to confirm pregnancy, as it indicates the concentration of circulating beta hCG, however small it may be, confirming not only the pregnancy, but also the week of gestation, more precisely, that the woman is finds. This test can be done before menstruation is delayed, however it is more recommended that it be carried out 12 days after the fertile period or on the first day after the delay, using a blood sample, which is analyzed in the laboratory.

What is beta hCG?

Beta hCG, also known as chorionic gonadotropin hormone, is a hormone whose production occurs mainly during pregnancy and, therefore, assessing its concentration in blood and urine is useful for detecting pregnancy.

This hormone increases in concentration during pregnancy with the aim of maintaining the corpus luteum in the ovary, inhibiting menstruation and preventing new ovulation, that is, allowing the pregnancy to develop. Learn more about beta hCG.
