New Italian restaurant in our Jardins: Mezza Luna Cucina |

South America

On my last trip to São Paulo, I went to Mezza Luna Cucina del Sud, a new Italian restaurant in Jardins. Under the command of chef Fábio Aiello (ex-Attimo), the restaurant offers specialties from southern Italy, more precisely Sicily, the chef’s homeland. Opened just a month ago, the atmosphere is spacious and cozy, the dishes are delicious and the service is friendly. Indeed, a restaurant that deserves your visit. New Italian restaurant in Jardins

The architectural design of Mezza Luna has a contemporary bohemian style as its concept. Highlights include the tables made of dehydrated trees and the entrance tunnel made of steel. In addition, two other important names in the gastronomic industry complete the picture. The maître d’ Jailson Barreto (23 years at La Tambouille) and the restaurateur Francesco Paolo (from the DPN Gastronomia Group).

The menu features a combination of traditional recipes and contemporary dishes. For starters, for example, the Carpaccio de Capesante, smoked scallop slices with a base of marinated tomato cream, with
a touch of Sicilian lemon and fleur de sel is a good option.

Certainly when it comes to the main dishes, the highlight is the homemade pasta. O Pear and gorgonzola dumplings, for example, it’s filled with walnuts and pear with a gorgonzola dolce and pistachio sauce. Already the Fusilli Grandma Angela Comes with calamari, shrimp, mussels and pomodoro sauce. In addition, there are also risotto, meat and fish options.

For dessert, I opted for two Italian classics. O Sicilian Cannoli Doccone filled with fresh ricotta cream with chocolate drops wrapped in pistachios and Tiramissù Yes… But the Nutella one, Italian mascarpone cream, nutella, biscuit, coffee and amaretto.

Furthermore, the drinks are copyrighted. The air-conditioned wine cellar has more than 60 labels. In other words, a complete restaurant. In fact, I will be back next time I go to São Paulo.
