An excellent new feature is the Belmond app, which allows guests of the most famous hotel in Brazil to make check in in advance, restaurant reservations and even mini-bar preferences. In fact, it’s a great idea to see the menus and start thinking about what you’re going to eat before you even get to the restaurant.

My suite was on the third floor and had a magnificent sea view. Divided into two rooms, in the first, a spacious living room, with a sofa, armchairs, plasma TV, coffee table (where a beautiful bottle of champagne was waiting for me) and also a desk. The closet with drawers was large and there was also a minibar and Nespresso coffee maker available.

The marble bathroom was located at the entrance to the room, with two sinks, comfortable bathrobes available to guests and excellent Granado amenities, including wet wipes and alcohol gel. I also found two separate protective masks on the extensive bench to be cute.

In the bedroom itself, another window with a view and another TV, in addition to the very comfortable bed. Highlight for the double glazing through which no noise passed, even though it was on the busy Avenida Atlântica. Total and absolute silence. Furthermore, the black out also worked perfectly.

The gastronomy of the most famous hotel in Brazil

The Belmond Copacabana Palace is certainly one of the few luxury hotels in Rio to have three restaurants. And not just that. These are some of the best in the city! Personally, I think this is one of the hotel’s greatest assets, as you don’t need to leave it for anything. Spending three nights there and being able to have dinner in three wonderful different places is a gift!

Pergola

Next to the iconic pool, Pérgula, completely redesigned in 2017, has tables in the lounge and on the balcony. On Sundays, the traditional brunch do Copa – where we were also recently – and breakfast is served there every morning. Upon reopening, the buffet was suspended and now employees are the ones who have access to the tables. Additionally, some dishes are à la carte. Also open for lunch and dinner, the restaurant’s menu is varied, with salads, pasta, meat and fish, and there are also several grilled options.
