The Dior Cruise 2019 took place on May 26th, at the Muséé du Cheval, in the French city of Chantilly, north of Paris, led by Maria Grazia Chiui.
The first woman to head the creative direction of Dior, the designer, who previously worked for Valentino, took charge of the maison in 2016, and since then has been promoting the feminist agenda in the brand’s direction in an explicit way, as in the white t-shirt in the collection spring-summer 2017, which went viral with the words ‘We should all be feminists’, and was repeated in spring/summer 2018, with the question ‘Why have there been no great woman artists?’ (Why haven’t there been great female artists?).
In this collection, Maria Grazia Chiui’s questions were present in a more subtle and sophisticated way.

This edition’s parade was inspired by the escaramuzas – a Mexican equestrian competition, practiced exclusively by men in the past.
On the catwalk, strong and vibrant women showcased Dior’s next trends, while a performance was performed by a group of rodeo riders, all women.
According to the Italian, the message of the parade was not about horses, but rather conveying the idea that women are capable of doing anything they want, including participating in traditionally male sports, such as rodeos.
We identified and listed some of the trends behind the looks that express Dior’s empowered woman. Check out.
