Carrier oils play an important role when it comes to making solid perfume. They are responsible for diluting the essential oil before it is applied directly to the skin. Certain oils, such as cinnamon or clove, can irritate the dermis, and are strong enough that their use needs to be disciplined. Typically, carrier oils act as a base for your chosen essential oil. In this sense, its perfume is not strong and the elements have many benefits for the skin.
Some of the most popular are grapeseed, jojoba, argan, sweet almond, buriti and avocado oil. Anyone can be included in the solid perfume recipe. Argan, for example, with a sweet and soft aroma, helps with skin elasticity and smoothes fine lines and wrinkles.

In this sense, essential oils are an entirely individual choice at the time of production. First of all, you need to understand a little about the perfume notes of the oil you want to use, since initially, there are three of them: the base, secondary and main aroma. The recommendation is to use a proportion of 20% base, 50% secondary and 30% main. However, following the recommendation is not necessary: just choose what you like best, as long as the base grade has a lower percentage.
- Base aroma: The smell chosen for the base aroma must be strong and striking, as it must last longer. It is usually the anchor of the perfume, and some examples include: cedar, ginger, myrrh, patchouli, vanilla or sandalwood.
- Secondary aroma: The secondary aroma is the heart of the perfume. Despite not being the most striking, it lasts longer than the main one. Some examples are: clove, cinnamon, chamomile, fennel, jasmine, pine, fir, nutmeg and tea tree.
- Main aroma: This is the star of the perfume, the one that lasts the shortest but has the most striking aroma of all. Here, you must choose the brand of perfume, by which it will be known. Examples for main scents: lemon, citronella, orange, tangerine, lavender, eucalyptus, lemongrass.
