Homemade soap making recipes
Homemade bar soap
Ingredients
- 2 liters of hot water
- 1 kg of caustic soda flakes
- 1 liter of alcohol
- 4 liters of cooking oil
- Essential oil of choice
- 1 bucket
Preparation Mode
First of all, put the caustic soda in a large bucket. Then add all the hot water, little by little, gently and slowly. Therefore, use a wooden spoon to mix well until all the ingredients dissolve. Then add the cooking oil and stir for 20 minutes. Immediately after, add the alcohol and essential oil, always stirring well until the dough is consistent. Lastly, let the dough dry in molds for 24 hours or more. Furthermore, just cut the pieces into the size and shape you want. Even more, you can use leaves, dried herbs, shells and flower petals to decorate your soap, it’s up to you.
Homemade powder recipe
Ingredients
- Baking soda (1 cup)
- Sodium carbonate (1 cup)
- 100 grams of coconut bar soap
- Essential oil of choice
Preparation mode
First of all, grate the coconut soap or chop it into fine pieces. Then, add the grated soap to the processor or blender to turn it into powder. Afterwards, mix the baking soda, soda ash and coconut soap. Lastly, add a few drops of essential oil of your choice. Furthermore, this last ingredient is not mandatory, the oil is just to add scent to the clothes, if you don’t want to use it, it’s up to you.
Liquid homemade soap
Ingredients
- 200 grams of coconut bar soap
- 50 milliliters of 70 alcohol
- 3 liters of water
- 3 tablespoons of baking soda
- Essential oil of choice
Preparation mode
First, grate the coconut soap or cut it into very small pieces. Then, put the water in the pan to boil, so when it starts to boil, add the grated coconut soap. This way, stir slowly until the soap dissolves completely. Afterwards, carefully add the 70% alcohol and the sodium bicarbonate. In the meantime, turn off the heat and wait for the mixture to become warm before adding the essential oil. Finally, stir for a few minutes until the ingredients spread. Furthermore, be careful not to add the essential oil with the hot mixture, as the smell evaporates, eliminating all the aroma.
Bonus recipe – White vinegar
Ingredients
- 5 liters of cooking oil
- 1 kg of caustic soda
- 1 cup of washing powder
- White vinegar (1 cup)
- 1 bucket
Preparation mode
First, heat the cooking oil, and separately, dissolve the washing powder in a little water. Then, place the warm oil in the bucket and add the caustic soda, diluted washing powder and vinegar, in that order. Afterwards, stir well until the syrup thickens on the stove. Finally, place it in molds and let it dry for 24 hours, then cut it into the size and shape you want.
