Pomegranate juice and apple cider vinegar sitz bath are good examples of home remedies that can complement the medical treatment of trichomoniasis, as they have antiparasitic properties, which can help eliminate the parasite responsible for trichomoniasis, which causes inflammation, discharge and itching.
However, although it is effective in reducing symptoms, natural treatment does not replace antibiotics, such as metronidazole, which may be recommended by a gynecologist, in the case of women, and by a urologist, in the case of men. Home remedies are a complement to speed up recovery and alleviate symptoms, not a cure, as only by using medicines prescribed by a doctor can the parasite be completely eliminated. See how trichomoniasis is treated with medication.
Some home remedies that can be used to treat trichomoniasis are:
To eliminate the parasite

1. Pomegranate juice
Pomegranate juice appears to have antiparasitic properties that can help eliminate the parasite responsible for trichomoniasis, strengthening the effect of antibiotics and relieving symptoms such as discharge and itching more quickly.
Ingredients
- Seeds of ½ large pomegranate;
- ½ glass of water.
Preparation mode
Place the seeds and water in a blender and then blend until the seeds are well crushed. Finally, the juice must be strained before drinking. The ideal is to drink 2 to 3 glasses of this juice per day, for at least 1 week.
2. Apple cider vinegar rinse
Apple cider vinegar also has good antiparasitic action that helps eliminate various types of infections. Furthermore, in the case of women, it can also reduce the amount of discharge, as it balances the vaginal pH.
Ingredients
- 1 small basin with warm water;
- 1 small glass of apple cider vinegar.
Preparation mode
Mix the ingredients and then wash the genital area with water, before taking a shower, for example. This wash can be done 2 to 3 times a day, depending on the intensity of the symptoms.
