You know that recipe that reminds you of a school cafeteria? This is it for me!
I find it very funny that in some regions this salty snack is called “Joelho”. Around here, it’s ham and cheese rolls. And what’s it called?
I love this dough! You can make any savory roast!
Dough Ingredients:
1 small egg;
2 tablespoons of oil;
1/2 cup (tea) of warm milk;
1 and 1/2 tablespoon of sugar;
1/2 tablespoon of salt;
2 cups (tea) of wheat flour approximately;
5g which is equivalent to 1/2 packet or half a tablespoon of instant dry yeast.
Filling (I processed the ham and cheese but it’s not necessary, ok?):
– cheese
– Ham
– cream cheese
– oregano
To brush:
1 yolk;
1 col. (soup) of water;
oregano to taste.
Way of doing:
To make the dough, just mix everything and leave the flour and yeast for last. I add the flour little by little, mixing it with the yeast.
When it comes off your hands, you have to knead it for about 10 minutes.
Let the dough rest until it rises and doubles in volume.
I divide the risen dough into 2 parts to make it easier. I open one of the parts to form a rectangle, add the filling and roll it up like a roulade. Then I cut it into 4 parts and do this with the other part of the dough. In total there will be 8 medium snacks. Brush the egg yolk mixed with a little water (to make it more fluid) and sprinkle with oregano.
Preheat oven to 180ºC until golden on top.
