In March of this year I had the opportunity to stay at one of these, the wonderful Ritz-Carlton Reynolds, a lakeside resort in Georgia. He is one hotel superluxuoso, category 5 diamonds. That is, it goes beyond being a five star hotel. A place to rest, totally immersed in nature and ideal for those who want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the big city.

Lakeside Resort in Georgia
The Ritz-Carlton Reynolds is located in Greensboro, on the shores of Lake Oconee, the second largest lake in the State of Georgia, in the United States. It is 135 km from Atlanta, 3h30 by car from Savannah and, in addition, 20 minutes from the center of Greensboro. I drove from Atlanta, where I stayed at the best hotel in the city, the Mandarin Oriental. It took me two hours to arrive, but it depends on traffic. A long trip, but with a beautiful landscape.

O luxury hotel in Georgia It is in a super reserved area of more than 120 thousand m². There are no taxis or other types of transport. So, if you want to have more freedom to explore other nearby places, such as the historic city of Madison, for example, the ideal is to have a car. I say this because I tried to take an Uber or taxi and it was an impractical task, lol.

Every time I walked around the hotel I discovered a special corner, like chairs around fireplaces, spread around the Ritz-Carlton Reynolds and many of them on the edge of the Lake Occonee, one of the largest lakes in the USA.

O luxury hotel in Georgia Bicycles are available for guests and there are several cycle paths with ups and downs. But to make up for the effort, the landscape looks like a beautiful painting. The infinity pool overlooking Lake Oconee is a sight to behold! I stayed during the American winter, but it must be great to use on hot days. Therefore, I really wanted to come back in the summer to enjoy it and also the lake, which offers many activities for all ages, such as fishing and canoeing.

You can choose to do them near the open kitchen or overlooking the golf courses. The highlights are the wood-fired cuts of Black Angus beef and, for dessert, the dark chocolate soufflé with white chocolate ice cream.
Georgia is a typical southern cuisine restaurant, one that tastes like homemade food, with fresh, regional and organic ingredients. The atmosphere is casual and cozy. Breakfast is served from 7am to 11am and dinner from 6pm to 9pm. Plus, the patio is an invitation to one of the craft cocktails on the menu.
Gaby’s by the Lake, where I had lunch, is poolside and has a wonderful view of Lake Oconee. It offers an informal menu in a super relaxed atmosphere. The menu includes pizzas, salads, sandwiches, grilled food and cocktails. Additionally, it is open for lunch and dinner.
For couples
Chiminea Dining is the resort’s most romantic option. Tables for two are located by the lake, with a private fireplace for each couple. The dining experience costs $125 per person (plus 7% tax and 20% tip) and includes three courses, a bottle of wine and dessert. Reservation is required.
And finally, the lakeside resort in Georgia also has a Starbucks and the Lobby Lounge, a bar with live music, a pool table, cocktails, a wine list and appetizers. After all, no one is made of iron, and sometimes we just want a quick drink or a coffee.
