Fungal sinusitis is mainly caused by fungi of the genus Candida sp., Rhizopus sp., Aspergillus sp., e Rhinosporidium sp., for example.
How the treatment is carried out
Treatment for fungal sinusitis is done through surgery to remove excess fungi and correct nasal changes that have formed, such as deviated septum and hypertrophy.
Antifungal medications are used as a complement, especially if the lower airways are compromised.
