friendly Italian restaurant in Oscar Freire, in SP

South America

Opened in 2020, Luce is a friendly Italian restaurant on Oscar Freire, one of the busiest and most elegant streets in Jardins. Therefore, very well located. With cozy environments, it offers modern cuisine but revisiting classics from the country of the boot, under the command of executive chef Marcelo Schomer (who has worked in the kitchen at Hotel Emiliano and renowned restaurants in Spain). Certainly a relaxed place, where you will eat well! In addition, it has great signature drinks and a wine list!

Italian restaurant on Oscar Freire

The architectural project is by Rodolfo Yamamoto (Roya Arquitetura), who sought inspiration in Capri to create the environments of the houses, both in Jardins and Higienópolis. The balcony, lounge and bar are fully integrated. In fact, the beautiful bar is ideal for having a drink while you wait for your table, if the restaurant is full.

Know more

All pasta, flour and inputs used in the recipes come directly from Italy. On the menu, very tasty starters, such as, for example, Wood-fired burrata (R$76), with Bologna PGI mortadella with pistachios, pesto and lemon. There is also focaccia, and Lasagna Bites (R$53), cubes of spinach lasagna and buffalo mozzarella with San Marzano tomato dip. In fact, we highlight the restaurant’s own crockery, which is beautiful and makes the experience even richer.

Among the main ones, I bet on one of the restaurant’s flagships, the Luce Signatures Gnocchi (R$79), caramelized onion gnocchi with Pecorino fonduta, truffle salsa, onion brulée and crunchy bread, and even gratin in a wood-fired oven. There are options of fish, meat, natural fermentation dough baked in a wood oven imported from Italy, and pizzas.

Luce’s desserts and drinks

For dessert, highlight the Banoffee (R$45), banana roasted in a wood-fired oven, homemade vanilla gelato, hazelnut crumble and marshmallow fatto in house, finished with caramel sauce, and served in the fruit’s own skin. To end the meal, nothing more Italian than a shot of limoncello, a typical digestive! The Italian restaurant at Oscar Freire also has great drink options, both classic and original, such as the Florense (R$42), which contains aged rum, Jerez honey, Rosso vermouth and Bitter Angostura.

Recently, the owners also opened Panifício Luce, in Jardins, a restaurant that focuses on bread, with options for the entire day. From breakfast, through happy hour to dinner, there are options for pizza, sandwiches and pasta. In other words, I was already excited to discover another gastronomic option in Jardins.

Mother’s Day at Luce

On Mother’s Day Sunday, Luce will offer a dinner paired with wines from the Antinori winery. A Antinori Experience, served at both locations (Oscar Freire and Higienopolis), will be a 4-course menu (R$580 per person), with recipes from chef Marcelo Schomer (Emiliano and the Spanish Calima – Madrid and Abac- Barcelona). Reservations are required by phone: (11)-994574554.

End: Rua Oscar Freire 45. Panifício Luce – Alameda Tiete 151.
