Elani cycle, or Elani cycle 21, is a contraceptive that contains two female hormones, drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol, which act by preventing ovulation and causing changes in cervical mucus, making it more difficult for sperm to reach the uterus, preventing pregnancy.
Because it has low doses of hormones, this contraceptive reduces fluid retention that can cause swelling or weight gain, and therefore, the Elani cycle does not gain weight. Furthermore, the Elani cycle helps improve acne-prone skin, reduces the formation of blackheads and controls excess oil in the hair.
Elani cycle 21 should always be used with the indication and guidance of a gynecologist and can be found in pharmacies or drugstores in boxes with 21 tablets. However, this contraceptive can also be found in boxes with 28 tablets, under the trade name Elani cycle 28.

What is it for
The Elani cycle is indicated as a contraceptive, to prevent pregnancy, as it prevents ovulation, changes cervical mucus, preventing sperm from reaching the uterus, in addition to making it more difficult for a fertilized egg to attach itself to the uterus.
This contraceptive also helps control menstrual intensity and flow, reducing the risk of anemia caused by heavy menstrual bleeding and reducing the discomfort of menstrual cramps.
How to drink
Elani cycle 21 tablets should be taken with water, always at the same time. You must take 1 Elani cycle tablet per day, following the direction of the arrows, until the end of the pack, which has 21 units. Then you should take a seven-day break, and wait for the 8th day, when you should start a new pack of this contraceptive.
How to start taking: For those who are taking Elani cycle 21 for the first time, you should take the first tablet on the first day of your period. Therefore, if your period comes on a Tuesday, you should take the first pill on a Tuesday indicated on the pack, always respecting the direction of the arrows. The contraceptive effect of Elani cycle 21 starts from the first day of treatment, if its use is carried out correctly from the first day of menstruation.
What to do if you forget 1 tablet: If you forget, you should take the forgotten tablet within 12 hours of the ideal time. If you forget for more than 12 hours, the effect will be impaired, especially at the end or beginning of the pack.
- Forget in the 1st week: take the pill as soon as you remember and use an additional contraceptive method for the next 7 days;
- Forget in the 2nd week: take the pill as soon as you remember;
- Forgetting in the 3rd week: take the pill as soon as you remember and don’t take a break, starting a new pack as soon as it runs out.
If you miss 2 or more tablets in any week, the chances of pregnancy are greater and, therefore, you should take a pregnancy test before starting a new pack.
During the breaks between packs, after the 3rd or 4th day, bleeding similar to menstruation should appear, but if it does not occur and you have had unprotected sex, you may be pregnant, especially if you have forgotten to take any pills during the month.
It is important to always use a condom in all sexual relations, as the Elani cycle does not prevent sexually transmitted infections (STIs). Check out the main STIs.
