Cuca Farofa – Panelaterapia

Cuca Farofa

Sweet cakes and pies

I made it with apples, but it could be with sliced bananas or with both fruits together.
I didn’t have any nuts at home, but I believe that if you add some walnuts, almonds or Brazil nuts (formerly Brazil nuts) it would also be good!

Ingredients for a small refractory:

1 large apple cut into thin slices

3 tablespoons raisins (I used white ones)

4 tablespoons of wheat flour

6 tablespoons of sugar (I used 3 brown sugar and 3 refined sugar)

1 teaspoon of baking powder

1 teaspoon of vanilla essence

2/3 cup of milk

1 small egg

Now take a look at this diagram:

In detail:

Slice the apples.

Make a “farofa” by mixing the flour with the sugar and yeast.

Grease a small ovenproof dish with unsalted butter and line the bottom with a thin layer of dry farofa (flour with sugar and baking powder).

Cover with a layer of apples, sprinkle half of the raisins, a little cinnamon and small pieces of butter.

Now repeat the operation: another layer of dry ingredients, apple with raisins, cinnamon and butter, and finish with another layer of dry ingredients.

Finally, lightly beat the egg, add the vanilla and milk and pour over everything. Bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes, until golden on top. It seems like it won’t work, but it does! And it’s goooood!!! It’s not very sweet, so I served it with ice cream and a drizzle of honey, can you imagine?
