Chocolate hydration – What are the benefits + recipes

Beauty

Famous for being the favorite of dessert recipes, chocolate is also a great ingredient for hydrating curly hair.

The main ingredient in several dessert recipes, chocolate is among the most popular sweets in the world. Whether white, black, milk or semi-sweet, chocolate has the power to make the day more beautiful. But did you know that this sweet can also be used to make your hair silkier? So it is! That’s why we’ve brought you everything you need to know about chocolate hydration.

The components of cocoa, the fruit that is the raw material for chocolate, are capable of adding shine and hydrating hair, especially frizzy and curly hair. This is because, in addition to being soft and frizz-free, chocolate can control the volume of the hair, giving greater definition to the curls.

Cocoa is rich in vitamin B1, magnesium and theobromine, which is why it has an antioxidant and restorative effect on hair strands. In addition, it also has lipids, which are good fats responsible for providing hydration and nutrition to curly strands and replenishing the natural hair oils lost on a daily basis.

Before hydrating chocolate, you need to know that the common chocolate powder we find in the supermarket does not have the same properties as powdered chocolate. This is because this common chocolate has a much higher sugar concentration than cocoa, which reduces the hydration benefits. However, if you only have canned chocolate at home, it’s fine to add it to the recipe.

Another recommendation is to do this hydration only once a week, as it will be enough to restore shine and definition to your curls. So, to hydrate, you must wash your hair well with shampoo and remove excess water, then just apply any of the homemade chocolate masks that we will teach you below.
