44th edition of Arraial de Belo Horizonte
In 2023, Belo Horizonte City Hall announced that the 44th edition of Arraial de Belo Horizonte will take place, starting on July 21st and ending on August 6th. Being one of the main and most traditional June festivals in the South and Southeast regions, the event features the traditional square dance, presentations by various artists and, to honor Belo Horizonte’s title as UNESCO’s Creative City of Gastronomy, a Gastronomic Village.
The celebration will be on the 21st, 22nd, 23rd, 29th and 30th of July and the 5th and 6th of August.
Arraial is one of the most anticipated festivals of the year for those who enjoy the celebration in Minas Gerais, but anyone who thinks that only bonfires can be jumped in the capital of Minas Gerais is wrong! Check out a calendar full of FREE June festivals in Belo Horizonte for the year 2023.

Arraiá do Andacunfé
Held at Praça Joaquim Ferreira da Luz, in the Santa Tereza neighborhood, Andacunfé is a square dance that opens the period of São João in the capital of Minas Gerais in 2023. Highly praised by the public, it features performances by Bloco de Pífanos BH, Assum Preto and Thiago Amador . In addition, there will also be the presence of Andacunfé’s drums and band playing the most beautiful songs by master Gilberto Gil.
Date: June 3, 2023, at 2 pm.
Arraial of the Sangê de Minas Group
For those who enjoy a square dance and can’t wait to jump, this is the perfect arraiá! Held in the northern region of BH, at Praça Jorge Alves, the event features a square dance competition of different categories and styles. In addition, of course, to the famous typical foods and drinks being sold on site.
Dates: June 3rd and 4th, 2023, at 6pm.
Arraiá dos Capuchinhos 2023
Organized by the Fraternidade Nossa Senhora do Rosário de Pompéia, the perfect celebration for those looking for a more family and religious atmosphere. There will be three days of celebration filled with food and good forró for dancing and warming up your body in this cold weather! The event will be held in the Pompéia neighborhood, where the Fraternidade is located.
Dates: June 8th, 9th and 10th, 2023, all day.
Arraiá do Blues
The first June party to the sound of blues in the capital of Minas Gerais is a creative and collaborative economy event! In addition to being a suitable environment for children, families and pets, food and beverage traders – craft beers and wonderful wines – are the organizers of the event, to bring free culture and entertainment to the population while offering their products.
Be sure to enjoy the bands Matahari and Soul Mine playing danceable blues, eat delicious snacks and contribute to the local economy! The party will take place at Praça Carlos Chagas, in the Santo Agostinho neighborhood.
Date: June 10, 2023, at 10 am.
Arraiá de São Judas 2023
It is at Colégio São Miguel Arcanjo, in the Nova Floresta neighborhood, that Arraiá de São Judas takes place this year! Among the attractions are the country duo João Marcos and Maurinho and the Mandruvá Trio, as well as typical food, bingo, games, square dancing and much more.
Date: June 17, 2023, at 4 pm.
Arraiá do Betânia 2023
With two days of celebration, Arraiá do Betânia will take place on the ground next to the São Sebastião Church, in the Betânia neighborhood. More specifically at Rua Úrsula Paulino, 1533. On the first day of the event, the show will be by the group Chama Chuva, while on the second day of the event, the music will be provided by Banda Uns dias. For the whole family to enjoy!
Date: June 17th and 18th, 2023, at 6pm.
4th Arraiá do Rock do São Bento
Moving away from traditional June music and pleasing fans of good old Rock and Roll, this arraiá is a perfect option for those who want to enjoy the best of the typical foods of the time to the sound of metal. The shows will feature the bands Gritta, Mentol and Locomotive, as well as young talents from the Musicando music school. The event will take place on Avenida Bento Simão, in the São Bento neighborhood.
Date: June 24, 2023, at 8 pm.
Arraiá da Santa 2023
One of the biggest typical street parties in Belo Horizonte, Arraiá da Santa takes place in the Santa Inês neighborhood, at Praça Coronel Assis Duarte. This year, the event features shows by Kauan Moares and Swing da Lua to liven up the party, as well as lots of delicious food and various activities.
Dates: July 14, 15 and 16, 2023, all day.
