New Italian restaurant at Oscar Freire
At the forefront of the novelty are experienced names in the gastronomic market: restaurateur Gianluca Perino (ex-Bottega Bernacca) and chef Ricardo Dicamargo (ex-Serafina). With a small balcony and tables on the sidewalk, the indoor room has wooden floors and exposed brick. On the wall, there are paintings with photos and paintings of important Italian personalities, such as Sophia Loren and Gianni Versace.
The extensive marble counter is divided into a bar and an open kitchen. Therefore, there the customer can closely monitor the preparation of the pasta. On the second floor, there is a more intimate and reserved space, with large windows overlooking the street.
The menu features traditional Italian dishes. As a starter, we opted for tomato soup and burrata, classic Tuscan recipe, Italian bread, onions, San Marzano PDO tomatoes, reggiano and burrata. We also ask Piedmontese raw meatangus fillet cut on the tip of a knife and seasoned the old-fashioned way.
Meanwhile, the main dishes include pasta, risotto and meat. Therefore, highlight the champagne and prawn risottocreamy champagne risotto with prawns, and tagliolini alla cipriani, fresh pasta, bechamel, ham and parmesan gratin.
To finish, the meringata pie, cake with vanilla cream and Italian meringue, and mousse al cioccolato, callebaut chocolate mousse and crunchy farofa.
The bar serves very well-made drinks, both classic and original. Like, for example, Il Capitale, which features vodka infused with hibiscus, soursop, Tahiti lemon and sugar syrup. In addition, there is also the G&T Il Capitale, gin infused with chamomile, tonic water, maraschino cherry and nasturtium.
For those who like wine, highlight the beautiful air-conditioned wine cellar with a variety of labels.
Oh, and reservations are recommended because, as we saw, it's already booming!
