Location
No 8eme arrondissement, The hotel is close to the Arc de Triomphe. On the streets inside, we have an incredible offer of designer stores and visibly residential buildings. The silence there contrasts with the hustle and bustle of one of the busiest avenues in Paris.
One of the most luxurious hotels in Paris
Opened ten years ago, it is located above the traditional Fouquet restaurant, from 1889, a point of interest for the French artistic and political classes. To give you an idea, celebrities such as Quentin Taranatino, Jodie Foster and Roman Polanski have stayed there.
And it was in the restaurant Fouquet’s that former president Sarkozy celebrated his victory in 2007 with family and close friends, as well as being the place that inspired his romance with singer Carla Bruni. It is also in Fouquet’s César events take place, the Oscars of French cinema.
The restaurant, with classic French cuisine, led by Chef Jean-Yves Leuranguer’s together with Pierre Gagnaire, is elegant and cozy, with several photos of artists on the walls. Those who sit on the balcony have the chance to watch the movement of the traditional avenue. This is where the hotel’s breakfast is served. Cappuccino and hot eggs more than approved!
O hotel It also has The Diane restaurants, with a Michelin star and seasonal cuisine, also by Jean-Yves, and Galerie Joy, open only for lunch and afternoon tea. From 5pm onwards, it transforms into the friendly The Lucien bar, with a varied drinks menu and a outdoor very pleasant, with a beautiful garden. I ended my stay there, enjoying a good rosé with a variety of snacks. It couldn’t have been a better idea.
With 81 spacious rooms, the Barrier Le Fouquets it is a hotel which conveys sophistication from the moment you enter. The project by architect Edouard François and interior designer Jacques Garcia, to transform the famous brasserie em luxury hotel it was a hit! The environment is contemporary and cozy, full of references to cinema and Parisian culture and not surprisingly, it is the stage for temporary exhibitions.
The gold tone sofas with red cushions in the lobby reflect the boldness of the decor and are accompanied by photos of personalities on the walls, making it clear that this is the temple of the Lux.
The 40 suites are all covered in mahogany and silk, with leather finishing. In the bathrooms, the showers have slate and mosaic floors.
I stayed in a deluxe junior suitewith great space, large closet, dressing table, work table, small room with table and armchairs, very well lit, but with good black out and absolute silence due to the double glazing in the windows.
A 24-hour butler available and a free minibar are part of the effort to pamper guests at the hotel. Barrier.
The 750m² spa is a highlight of the hotelwith a 15 x 9 meter swimming pool, with a water course, as well as rooms for various treatments, using Shiseido products and a very well-equipped gym.
Another interesting fact is the Leading Green certification, granted by Leading Hotels of the World, for its initiative in mitigating impacts on the environment. He was also the first in Paris to implement an energy saving policy and drastically reduce the consumption of water, gas and paper.
But what I liked most about Barrier Le Fouquets it was the outdoor spaces. The terrace is simply charming and where events take place from time to time. Only as a photo location can you understand what I’m saying, right? And as a bonus, a beautiful view of the Champs Elysées.
O Barrier Le Fouquets is the type of hotel that you don’t want to get out of it. Except when we remember that we are in the most romantic city in the world and we have to explore it, because after all, that’s what we travel for!
