Located in New York’s most elegant neighborhood, Surrey, it is a luxury hotel on the Upper East Side NY. Originally opened in 1926 as a hotel residence, had illustrious guests such as JFK and Bette Davis. Reopened just three years ago, and a reference in the category Luxo hotel Relais Chateaux aims to preserve its history and memory, offering an impeccable but always discreet service.

Located block of Central Parkby Rua 76th, of hotel is glued to Madison Avenueone of the most important in the city, surrounded by designer stores and the most important museums in NY, such as the Guggenheim and Metropolitan.

For this reason, it is said to be located in the Museum Aisle, which also has the Whitney, Jewish, among others.

The size of the rooms is ideal, with a small lounge to relax and the furniture is very tasteful, as well as a bar that adds an extra touch of charm to the environment.

The bathroom is also great, with a good shower and lots of amenities for guests.

Surrey also has Cafe Boulud, by French chef Daniel Bouloud, with a Michélin star and a friendly bar, open until midnight, ideal for a drink before or after dinner.

Furthermore, the hotel is surrounded by several excellent gastronomic options, such as the delicious Italian Caravaggio – where I had lunch next to Yoko Ono – and not for that reason, but I highly recommend it, and bakeries/pastry shops such as Saint Ambroeus and Eat Cafe, ideal for have breakfast or have a snack.

To top it off, the concierge chef is Brazilian. Lorena Ringoot understands everything about restaurants, shopping and shows and is always ready to meet guests’ requests, especially Brazilians.

My accommodation in Surrey couldn’t have been better, the service was impeccable and I highly recommend it to anyone who likes to stay in this part of the city, which is less touristy and more residential. You get an idea of how the city’s residents live in a super elegant neighborhood and you can also walk in the park every day – one of my favorite things to do when I’m in NY – and go to different exhibitions.
