BBB 21 champion Juliette talks about her aneurysm diagnosis during the latest edition of “Conversa com Bial”.
The release of the long-awaited EP and her first musical production was the great reason for happiness for BBB 21 champion Juliette, still in 2021. However, the former BBB member had to share the good emotions with bad news. At the time, she had found out about a suspected brain aneurysm. It all happened at the same time that the singer took her mother to have surgery. Now, Juliette talks about the aneurysm diagnosis, and what she felt at the time, in a statement during “Conversa com Bial”.
“When I got there – I had already done other brain tests and nothing came back – but the doctor said: ‘Let’s do a check-up. And I said no. Deep down, I was afraid to do it again because I had the feeling that it could be,” she began. “Then my mother had the surgery, she felt great and when she left the room I went to do my exams. I spent an hour inside the machine, receiving contrast in the vein, and in my head: ‘I know the time has come and I will know that I have an aneurysm, it was a certainty in my heart that I didn’t know where it came from’”.
Soon after, Juliette revealed: “When I left, the doctor had already assembled a team of neurologists.” According to the team, the BBB champion had an aneurysm in the same place her sister had one. In turn, the artist’s sister died as a result of a stroke, caused by a brain aneurysm. Likewise, last year, her mother had also suffered a heart attack.

“I was sure that my mission had been accomplished, that this was the purpose. It was in August. When I released my EP, everyone was celebrating and I was swallowing the pain of knowing I had the same problem as my mother and sister. People asked me for a smile, a photo, happiness, they asked me to show my life, everything… And I had nothing. Just fear and acceptance. And I kept thinking that no one imagines what someone else goes through. While people were thinking about the future, I didn’t even know if it was going to happen.”
Then, Juliette spoke about refusing treatment. She even avoided thinking about it. But with the death of singer Marília Mendonça, an alert was raised, and her friends insisted that she seek help. “And I spent three months not wanting to know about it, pretending that it hadn’t even happened, that I was fine and that I didn’t have an aneurysm. I didn’t want to treat, I didn’t want to operate, do anything. I wanted God to fulfill the mission… Then I was in bed with my friends, and they were saying: ‘Go do it, Juliette’. I felt something very strong.”
“Arriving in São Paulo, the doctor said: ‘We have no doubt, it’s an aneurysm. We just want to know how to treat it. Go do the catheterization, check the size. Place the prosthesis or close it, and perform open surgery or do nothing if it is inoperable.” So, Juliette hid the diagnosis from her mother and said goodbye to everyone before the operation. I took general anesthesia and went to the operating table with the certainty that if I finished there everything would be fine. I did my part, anyway…” But there, they discovered that the situation was much better than they expected.
Singer says she experienced a miracle
According to the singer, she had experienced a miracle. When Juliette talks about the diagnosis of an aneurysm, she adds: “Then I wake up and the doctor says: ‘I didn’t have an aneurysm. Everyone was sure, I was already choosing the size of your prosthesis’. It is an atypical formation, which very few people have. He believes it was a one in a million case. I believe it was a miracle, because that’s what my life is. I live on miracles. I am here”.
