Imagine having to prepare over 17,000 meals per day to feed a bunch of hard-working starving sailors on a floating city at sea. Sounds impossible, right? Well, it’s not. In fact, it is being executed right now.

The United States Navy has officially taken mobile mealtime to the next level. Every day that an American nuclear-powered aircraft carrier spends at sea, it has to provide three square meals for the 5,000 hungry sailors who call the ship home.

COME ON MAN in todays modern military everything is much better except the quality of its fighters, that being said i was happy with a FULL k ration in my time let alone complaining about a meal like what the navy serves but our fighting personnel have become TIMID and COMPLAINERS would still prefer the K RATION with the boys of the time SEMPER FI marsoc 70

  2. Spent 5 years in the Navy, and had my experiences with the best and worst foods the navy had to offer back in the mid to late 80s, but we never went hungry. there was always something to eat.

  3. Bring back the draft. Every young oerson needs to be a part of team work and seeing what can be accomplished when we work together.

  4. We always had subsidised canteens at work but cost cutters got rid of them, they should do the same in the US navy.. Cut Costs, give them burger + chips + 2 veg..

  5. Thank you for the very informative and interesting video. It made me very hungry and although I know these brave men and women are putting their lives on the line they must enjoy those wonderful looking meals. Makes you want to join the Navy. But once again we must be grateful of those wonderful men and women who protect us every day. They deserve the best that is available.

  6. Served on 2 carriers back in the mid 1970s. Never had a bad meal. Talking with veterans from that era, it's always the Army guys bitching about shit on a shingle. Navy served 3 varieties of it (creamed, chipped and minced beef on toast), all were good with the creamed being my fav! ⚓

  7. when i was in the navy circa 1970,s the enlisted men got slop to eat loaded with cooking grease but the officers got what they wanted by personal cooks with reg china not those slop trays we enlisted men got it seemed very unfair to me.

  8. I cannot even imagine the amount of food prepped daily. Wow. Great job from the culinary crew. I have had Air Force food while stationed in Korea and that was fantastic, never had food from a naval kitchen. I have heard that Navy food is beyond 4 star.

  9. I can tell you from experience that 95 percent of the time they didn’t carve roast beef for the enlisted. It was usally chillymac cornbread Mac and cheese, chicken and rice or potato over and over again. Pizza and burgers at Midrats .Breakfast was dehydrated egg’s sausage. That’s it after a mouth out you really on frozen and canned or dehydrated goods.

  10. Im a Corpsman who was deployed on the Ford once, being on a AC is not for the weak. You really learn your limits when your out in the middle of the sea.

  11. As a young Marine back in 1976 I was aboard the USS Juneau headed for the jungles of Mindanao on a training operation. The food may have been good early on but as Marines onboard a Navy ship we were always served last so it wasn’t always great.

  12. My youngest son (21) is on his way, he was sworn in yesterday! I've been watching all sorts of videos because the Navy is new to me….his older sister is Air Force and his younger brother is Army. The sheer volume of food they prepare everyday to feed all the women and men on those ships who are serving our country is mind blowing! I'm so thankful for all branches of the U.S. military and pray for the safety of all of our loved ones serving.

  13. I cooked on board CVN-71 (Pankowner) the best for me was cooking in the Chief Mess. I even like working in cargo. I relieze I was young back than beacuse could not make 2 weeks working at Amazon. Working in tha Aft galley is lots of work, but I loved woking the egg grill. I had a guy that ordered 10 over eary every morning. When we served Frie Chicken, Every dude I know (mostly African Americans) want A hook up. The best part is Hamburger watch in foreign ports. We Also had a chili bar that was up after breakfast unti breakfast start again.

  14. Hats off to the culinary specialist who do an outstanding job feeding not only the crew but the captain as well. Everyone on deck should be grateful for the hard work that goes into feeding the crew and it’s not the same old thing day after day. Great job

  16. It's not just the big aircraft carriers that prepare amazing meals for the crew. All ships and land mess halls also prepare great food. I was on a small, rinky-dink surface ship attached to the subs in Charleston, and we had top level cooks running our galley!
    When I was assigned to land duty, the mess halls were amazing!
    I don't know where the nonsense about military food being crap came from, but from what I experienced, it was all the best of the best.
