Location
The location of Altis, one of the best hotels in Lisbon, is certainly one of the property’s greatest assets. From there, you can do a lot of things by walking. For example, you can stroll along Avenida da Liberdade, the most elegant in Lisbon, full of designer stores. It is also next to Chiado, which offers dozens of cafes, bars and restaurants. Furthermore, you can walk to Príncipe Real, the coolest neighborhood in the capital at the moment. There, there is a concentration of cool shops, as well as excellent bars and restaurants.

The building
Despite being a modern hotel, the preservation of the old building from the 1940s is notable. Some of its characteristics have been maintained and original architectural elements have been enhanced. Wooden panels were maintained and noble materials were used in the renovation, such as stone, black lacquer, brass and mirror. The result is a mix of classic and modern, certainly interesting.

The 118 rooms and suites are spread over 6 floors. They are comfortable and with contemporary decor. The environments are sophisticated and at the same time welcoming. My suite with balcony had a beautiful view of Praça dos Restauradores and the emblematic Rossio Station.

It was divided between a living room, with armchairs, a table, desk and TV, and the bedroom, with a second TV. The bathroom is all marble, amenities and a great shower. Furthermore, the room had a Nespresso coffee machine, bathrobes, slippers and a mini bar.

Altis Avenida, one of the best hotels in Lisbon, has a restaurant called Rossio. It is on the top floor, with a beautiful balcony and stunning views over downtown Lisbon. A rich breakfast is served there. At lunch and dinner, the menu features dishes inspired by contemporary Portuguese cuisine.

Parking
Altis Avenida is on a part of the street that is difficult to stop the car. However, it has valet parking and also parking next door. Therefore, there is no need to worry if you are driving. Taxis and Ubers stop outside the hotel normally.

The family group maintains six hotels in Lisbon. In fact, we have already stayed at the Altis Grand and I also visited the Altis Belém and Spa, with 50 rooms and two restaurants, one of which is starred. Surrounded by some of the city’s most important monuments, it faces the Tagus River. Certainly another good accommodation option in the Portuguese capital.
