What is the best location in Las Vegas?
The best location in Las Vegas is The Strip, also known as Las Vegas Boulevard. This is the avenue where the main hotels and casinos are located. The Strip is 13km long, starting in the south, where Mandalay Bay is, and ending at the STRAT Hotel (formerly Stratosphere).
The most famous hotels and casinos are towards the center of the Strip. The further towards the extremes you are, the more you will have to walk or use buses, Uber or taxis.

Is it worth staying off the Strip?
When I went to Las Vegas for the first time I was only 20 years old and I went on a backpacking trip: I chose to stay in a hostel/motel, instead of a hotel. And I chose to stay a little further north, off the Strip, in the Freemont Street area.
There, you can find hostels, American motels and even cheap motels, for less than 50 dollars.
However, keep in mind that it is not necessary to stay outside of one of the big hotels to save money, much less choose a place far from everything.
Just like in Orlando, the large hotel offer in Las Vegas already brings prices down and prices in the middle of the city’s hustle and bustle are quite affordable.

Where to stay in Las Vegas: hotels for all profiles
Even though prices can vary a lot, some hotels in Las Vegas tend to have very good values compared to others, without losing too much quality. I divided the tips between the north, center and south of the Strip.
North of the Strip: For those who want to save money in Las Vegas
For those who want to know about the economy, the northernmost region of the Strip is the cheapest region. It is also a little further away from the hustle and bustle, making it necessary to use buses, monorail or taxis to get around.
SAHARA Las Vegas (4 stars, rating 7.8 – $) is a good option for budget travelers. It is the typical good and cheap hotel, well located and with a good level of comfort.
If you are the type who prefers good value for money, without giving up comfort, we have two good options: the 4-star hotels: Hilton Grand Vacations Suites (4 stars, rating 8.9 – $$) and Las Vegas Marriott Hotel (4 stars , grade 8.4 – $$$).

In the southernmost part of Las Vegas Boulevard you will find some of the oldest and most traditional casinos in Las Vegas and also excellent new 4 or 5-star options without a casino, which guarantees more peace of mind during your stay.
The traditional Excalibur (3 stars, rating 7.5 – $) and Luxor (3 stars, rating 7.5 – $) have themed decoration – the first is a medieval castle and the second a pyramid. As they are older, they are cheaper but comfortable.

How to find the best hotels in Las Vegas with a discount
It is possible to stay at the famous Caesars Palace or Bellagio casinos for a good price. The first trick is the booking period.
Those who book well in advance, let’s say six months in advance, have a high chance of paying the most expensive rate, because hotels understand that those who secure the room so long in advance are willing to pay more.

The best time to book your hotel – whether you dream or that fits your budget – is one to two months before your stay. In general, this is when hotels will have already taken stock of their vacant rooms and can launch good offers.
On Booking.com there is a very good tool, called Oferta Esperta, which gives you the best value for money for your accommodation period. Searching on a random date in March, I was able to find a double room option at the MGM Grand for $100.
Another good idea is to book a hotel that has a free cancellation option. And always check the prices, which change from night to day). If your hotel reduces the price, or a better hotel offers cheaper rooms, you can cancel your reservation at no additional cost and make another one!

Avoid major US holidays such as Labor Day, 4th of July, Memorial Day, etc. Christmas and New Year’s Eve are also popular dates.
