Wrong! According to research by the FDA, the American body responsible for supervising food and medicine, antibacterial soaps, in addition to not cleaning more than regular soaps, are harmful to health.
Hormonal problems
Tests carried out on antibacterial soaps from several American brands have proven that these products actually kill 99% of bacteria and that is not a good thing.
Due to substances present in this type of soap, such as tricosan and triclocarban, they can take a long time to leave our body and even cause hormonal changes.
Superbacteria
But the problems don’t stop there. Just as in the case of antibiotic abuse, antibacterial soaps can lead to superbugs.
This means that the 1% of microorganisms that survive the action of the product may end up acquiring genetic resistance to the active ingredient of the gemicide and thus reproducing more and more resistant bacteria.
Some studies have shown, for example, that Salmonella becomes more resistant to various medications after prolonged exposure to disinfectant soaps.
Antibacterial soaps banned… in the United States
For these reasons, the United States banned 19 chemical components used in most of these soaps that promise to eliminate bacteria and, consequently, the bactericidal soaps themselves.
The bad news is that this type of product continues to be produced and sold in Brazil indiscriminately.
