Have you ever heard of rosehip oil? This solution has been very successful and promises miracles for lightening stretch marks and blemishes on the skin.
Rosehip oil is a solution rich in oleic, linoleic and linolenic acid. In addition, it also contains vitamin A and C. Extracted directly from the wild plant scientifically called rose rubiginosa or rosehip, this oil is efficient in reducing stretch marks, keloids, scars and wrinkles and expression lines on the skin. It even has a powerful regenerating and emollient effect on the skin.
With its increasing popularity, the effectiveness of rosehip oil is even being compared to vitamin C serums. It has very similar benefits. Despite this, according to dermatologists, this cannot be said, as there are still no scientific studies on this plant.
Benefits of Rosehip Oil
As it is rich in essential acids and vitamins, rosehip oil and its anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and moisturizing actions are elements that benefit the lipid barrier of the body and face. In this way, it also promotes a regenerating and healing action when it comes to dry skin. Below is the list of benefits:
- Prevention or mitigation of stretch marks: Stretch marks are caused when the elastic and collagen fibers in the skin are destroyed. According to experts, rosehip oil is not capable of completely eliminating white stretch marks – which are older ones –, but it is capable of greatly attenuating their appearance.
- Aid in burn recovery and healing: In addition to reducing inflammation, the oil stimulates cell renewal and, therefore, recovers burned skin.
- Elimination or attenuation of skin blemishes: As it has a high anti-oxidant action, it can be used to treat melasma, for example.
- Preventing premature aging: Vitamin C and antioxidant action help restore the skin’s skin barrier. This prevents the appearance of wrinkles and expression lines prematurely.
- Skin hydration: Last but not least, rosehip oil leaves the skin soft with its high hydration content that penetrates the layers of the skin, providing vibrant skin.
How to use rosette oil
How to use it is very simple, basically just apply a few drops to the area you want to treat. Then spread in circular movements until the skin absorbs everything completely.
The product can be applied to the face and body. The best time to use it is right after showering. The skin will be clean and in need of hydration. This way, you receive the oil better.
Likewise, according to experts, rosehip oil can also be applied to the hair. A few drops added to the moisturizing cream can be very beneficial to combat dryness.
Homemade Recipes
Although it is easily found in some pharmacies and health food stores, you can also make your own rosehip oil. To do this you will need:
- 30 to 40 grams of Rosehip seeds;
- Almond oil;
- Glass jar or jar with lid;
- Dropper.
First, remove the edges of each seed with a knife. Then cut the seeds in half. Then, add the seeds to the glass jar, and mix in enough almond oil to cover all the seeds. Cover the bottle and let it rest for approximately 20 days. After that, strain the oil and transfer it to a dropper.
This way, the oil is ready to be used. It is recommended to apply a few drops of this oil to the skin 1 to 2 times a day, especially in drier areas or areas with scars, stretch marks, wrinkles or expression lines, for example.
– Anti Wrinkle Cream
Using rosehip oil, you can also make anti-wrinkle creams. This product is capable of hydrating, softening and preventing the appearance of wrinkles and expression lines on the skin. To produce you will need:
- 5 ml of Rosehip essential oil;
- 20 ml of coconut oil;
- 30 ml of beeswax;
- 1 ampoule of vitamin E;
- Glass jar or jar with lid.
The first step is to place the coconut oil and beeswax in a pan and heat in a bain-marie. Stir the mixture regularly with a spatula, until both are homogeneous. Once the coconut oil and beeswax are unified, add the rosehip oil and the vitamin E ampoule. Mix well and let it cool. Store in the refrigerator.
You can use this cream several times a day, depending on your needs. However, it can also only be done twice: right when you wake up and before going to sleep.
Furthermore, to make the cream more liquid, you can add 30 ml of coconut oil and just 20 ml of beeswax or, on the other hand, if you prefer a thicker cream, just add 40 ml of beeswax and just 10 ml of beeswax. 15 ml of coconut oil.
