Akrame Benallal

Owner of three restaurants, two in Paris and one in Hong Kong, Akrame is certainly true to his roots and a favorite of renowned chef Alain Ducasse. Frenchman of Algerian origin, he has also worked at El Buli, owned by famous Spanish chef Ferran Adrià. Akrame’s new place, opened just a year and a half ago, is small and discreet, yet awarded a Michelin star. Finally, it is behind a residential building close to Madeleine Square.

There are no signs or anything written. Arriving there, right after the small reception, comes the open kitchen, which we passed through before sitting down at one of the few tables; there are only 22 places. The chef proposes three different menus: “friends lunch menu” (midday friendly menu, with three courses, €65) “menu of the heart” (heart menu, with four courses, €130), and the “menu gourmand (six courses, €160). Finally, the dishes are naturally seasonal and the lunchtime menu changes daily. Meanwhile, the other two change every six weeks.

David Toutain

In 2013, the French chef, born in a Normandy agricultural field, opened the restaurant that bears his name. During his training, he also interacted with starred chefs such as Alain Passard and Pierre Gagnaire. Well located in 7th, a few meters from the Eiffel Tower, the restaurant, which has two Michelin stars, has a minimalist, cozy decor and lots of wooden furniture.

Meanwhile, on the menu, three menu options: Berce menu, served only at lunch with three courses (less on weekends) for €55, the menu Englatinefor €80, and the Meadowsweet menu, for €110, served at dinner. Just like Akrame, the presentation of the dishes is impeccable, with super delicate details. But the fundamental thing, which is the flavor, is always present and surprising with each bite.
