The Yellow September campaign was created in 2015, in Brazil, by the Center for the Valorization of Life (CVV), the Federal Council of Medicine (CFM) and the Brazilian Psychiatric Association (ABP). Suicide is a serious public health problem, which according to experts can be avoided in 9 out of 10 cases that occur.

Initially, according to data from the World Health Organization (WHO), every 40 seconds, a person dies by suicide in the world. In other words, in one year, more than 800 thousand people lose their lives this way. Among the main disorders that lead to suicide are depression, bipolar depression, chemical dependency and schizophrenia. Furthermore, suicide can also happen to anyone in an extreme pressure situation. Consequently, she acts with complete self-destructive instinct.
