Singer Naiara Azevedo, 32 years old, was the last name confirmed on the Camarote team of Big Brother Brasil (BBB22). The performer and composer gained national recognition five years ago, when she released the hit “50 reais”, in partnership with the duo Maiara and Maraísa.

Who is Naiara Azevedo?

Naiara de Fátima Azevedo Morais was born in the city of Farol, in the interior of Paraná, but today lives in Goiânia. Raised on the family farm with uncles, cousins ​​and musician grandparents, she had, from a young age, a country influence.

She left her hometown at the age of 18 to study Aesthetics and Cosmetology, an area in which she also completed postgraduate studies. In between studying, she worked as a waitress and doing small gigs in bars. In 2012, she moved to Londrina with the desire to make a living from music and, the following year, she recorded her first DVD.

Marília’s mother also spoke out

Marília Mendonça’s brother’s reaction was not unanimous. Many of Naiara’s fans spoke out against him, saying that he also launched a partnership with his sister after her death.

His justification is that this would be her wish and that there would already be an agreement on the release date of her song “Calculista” for this moment.

Ruth Moreira, Marília’s mother, didn’t like the story at all, as did her son. “We are under pressure from all sides, but we are not devastated. We were perplexed by the events, but we did not lose hope”, she posted in her stories.

After the controversy and negative repercussion surrounding the subject, Naiara Azevedo’s team made a statement announcing that the song will not be released.

The statement says:

“Naiara Azevedo’s team has complete admiration and respect for Marília Mendonça and her family, and understands the delicacy of the situation. The process of recording the song “50 percent” was done through the two artists. For the release, bureaucracy on the part of the record company is necessary – which is common with any recorded feat. Authorization for the artists to participate only came in the first half of 2021, and the launch was approved for the beginning of 2022.

With the invitation for Naiara to participate in the most visible reality show in Brazil, a career strategy was devised for the singer and a DVD was recorded, which everyone knows how important it is for an artist. In this project, the track “50 percent” was included, a very special song for Naiara, and Marília’s participation continued through the images from the already recorded music video, as a form of affection and admiration.

We reiterate that everything was always done within legal procedures. But, out of respect for Marília’s family, and if it is their will not to want this release, we will understand and not release the song. And it is highlighted here, once again, all the admiration and respect that has always existed between the artists.”
