Vanilla Cake with Poppy Seeds – Panelaterapia

Vanilla Cake with Poppy Seeds

Sweet cakes and pies

Fluffy and fragrant cake. I loved! There weren’t any in the original recipe, but I added poppy seeds, which if you don’t find them (and you probably won’t), you can simply not add them, as they won’t affect anything.

Regarding whether or not to ban poppies, I already explained in this post –> here.

I took the recipe from the book “500 cakes”, which I highly recommend, because it’s amazing! Very complete indeed!
The ingredients indicated are:

*** Before you start, it’s good to keep in mind that ALL ingredients must be at room temperature.

*** I only used 100g of butter, which is why mine was a little “crumbly”, but it was still great!

Way of doing:

Beat the butter with the sugar until it becomes a light cream. Add the eggs, one by one, then the milk and continue beating. Now turn off the mixer and add the flour and yeast, which must be sifted over the cream. Mix gently with a spatula. I also added (not part of the recipe) 1 tablespoon of vanilla essence and 1/2 cup of poppy seeds (optional). Bake in a preheated oven at 200º in a greased and floured pan until browned.

*Time can vary greatly depending on the brand of your oven. Test by inserting a toothpick into the center of the cake; if it comes out clean, the cake is baked. But be careful: only open the oven for the test after 30 minutes so the cake doesn’t deflate.

It was delicious! Very cute! But I, like the ant that I am, would add a little more sugar.
