US x Brazilian clothing sizes: Conversion table

Which is US clothing size equivalent to what we use in Brazil? It’s not uncommon for us to need to make this conversion, is it?

It could be during a trip, when we order something for a friend who went there or even when we make a purchase online that we need to find out these sizes. Who has never even seen stores in Brazil with labels that use some American measurement such as S, M or L?

In this post we will talk not only about clothing measurements such as P, M and G, but we will also show some US vs Brazil clothing conversion tablessuch as men’s and women’s shirts and pants, as well as children’s.

US Clothing Sizes

Basic Sizes P, M and L…

These are general measures that apply to men, women and children. It’s our S, M, L here in Brazil, with the difference that clothing sizes in the USA have some larger numbers that are not easily found here. In this case it’s easier, because if you know a little English you won’t even need much of the table below:

US Women’s Clothing Sizes

Here we will talk about basic women’s clothing sizes in the US x Brazil that are suitable for coats, jackets, dresses, skirts, blouses in general, among other products. We’ll talk more about the pants below. But just like here, the number can vary a lot, so it might be interesting to try the product as well.

Women’s Pants in USA

Pants in the US, in addition to the simple conversion in the table below, may have two numbers on the label such as 29/30. The first number refers to the waist measurement and the second to the leg height. The coolest thing about this is that there are length variations for the same pants, meaning it makes it easier for people with different heights. If this is the case, you can ask the seller for help or even try some models to understand what your number is.
