Tiradentes manages to escape a little from the commonplace that tours offer among churches and mansions dating from the colonial period for two reasons: the first is the proximity to the Serra de São José, with the city at its feet, and the second is the Film and Culture and Gastronomy festivals, in addition to the religious festivities that take over the city throughout the year.

All of this helps the walks to escape the cobblestones and reach the top of the mountain, for example. Guaranteeing an ever-increasing and comprehensive variety of tourists who disembark in Tiradentes with their guides, suitcases and itinerary – or not – to discover the city of Minas Gerais.

Below, you can find a guide when it comes to what to see and do in Tiradentes. Check out:

A postcard of Tiradentes, the Matriz de Santo Antônio borrows the characteristics common to so many churches in Ouro Preto and displays an interior rich in gold, with credit given to Aleijadinho, with regard to the church’s facade. Don’t forget to enter and allow a few minutes of delicious amazement at the organ that came from Portugal to adorn there.
