Cumbuco is a fishing village located in the municipality of Caucaia, on the west coast of Ceará, about 23 km from the capital.

Cumbuco’s excellent winds make it one of the best destinations in the country for kitesurfing, which is why the city is full of kitesurfers and also windsurfers and surfers, mainly from August to November, along with the holidays from December to January, a time when trade winds blow.

Surrounded by dunes and deserted landscapes, the village also welcomes lazier tourists who just want to take a good swim in the warm sea, stretch out on the mats, feel the breeze and enjoy the landscape. The only beach with infrastructure and closest to the center is the beach that gives the village its name, however, Barra do Cauípe and Tabuba beaches stand out for their calm and incredible views.

The most popular activities for those who set foot there are buggy rides that take them to the beaches, Lagoa do Banana, Lagoa do Cauípe and Parnamirim for bathing and colorful raft rides. It is also possible to go banana boating and try out the fun skibunda, sliding down the dunes and ending up directly in the calm waters. It’s quite a trip for the family or as a couple. The village’s rustic center is a great option to go at night to enjoy the moonlight and go to the bars and restaurants in the region with delicious food, from regional based on fish and crabs to international. Some craft shops and kiteshops are also located there. To have a peaceful night’s sleep, just go to one of the many accommodation options that Cumbuco and Caucaia (neighboring city) have, such as rustic inns, hotels with a thousand and one facilities and resorts with countless attractions.
