Urubici is an ideal destination for those who enjoy ecotourism and adventure tourism, the city is located in a valley surrounded by mountains, full of natural attractions, which makes for a great trip.

Most of the tourist attractions are easily accessible, but if your idea is to venture out a little further, go hiking, rappelling, trekking, the best thing to do is look for a specialized guide, whose contact details can be found at the hotels. and inns in the city, or directly with the Tourism Department.

Avencal Waterfall

One of the most beautiful waterfalls in the region, with a 100m high drop, and activities such as zip lining and rappelling.

The Avencal Waterfall is located 6 km from the center of Urubici, on a private property, at the entrance there is a fee of R$ 2.00 per person, but the cost is worth it, when you arrive at the waterfall, you will come across two viewpoints, so that the fall can be seen from two different angles.

There are three ways for you to get down to the base, it can be via a trail, where the walk lasts around 20 minutes, via a zipline or rappel, and these last two services cost approximately R$20.00 each.

Wedding Veil Cascade

On the way to Morro da Igreja, about 25 km from the city center, this beautiful waterfall is located, with a 60m high drop, offering not only a beautiful landscape, but also an incredible story.

The Bridal Veil Waterfall got its name because of a legend from the region, where they say that an Indian was going to marry a local Indian, but on the way he died, so the Indian leaned over the mountain, and cried a lot, the which ended up forming the waterfall.
This waterfall is also located on a private property, and the entrance fee is R$2.00 per person, and the zip line, which is also present there, costs around R$15.00.

On cold winter days, the waters of the waterfall freeze, forming a beautiful image, considered one of the city’s postcards.

Church Hill

The highest inhabited point in southern Brazil, with an altitude of 1822m, and a view of the city’s most beautiful postcard.

Morro da Igreja is 29 km from the center of Urubici, and is one of the most visited points in the city, as in winter it is covered by snow and strong frosts, and is the point where the lowest temperature in the country has been recorded, and On days with little fog, it allows a clear view of Pedra Furada, the city’s postcard.
CINDACTA II is also installed in Morro da Igreja by the Ministry of Aeronautics, where air traffic control in RS and SC is carried out.

The road that leads to the top of the hill is narrow and not completely in good condition, so it requires care, and on days of heavy fog, visibility is minimal, but the point is considered easy to access.

The city’s postcard is one of the most beautiful views in the region, it is located on the border of three cities, Orleans, Bom Jardim da Serra and Urubici, and cannot be left out of your itinerary.

Pedra Furada is a rock formation 30m in circumference, which can be seen from Morro da Igreja, or through a trail, but this requires a guide and authorization from the air force, as the stone is located on private property.
If your idea is to go on the trail, physical preparation is essential, the walk lasts around 4 hours, the round trip takes around 8 hours, but if you don’t have any problems with that, it’s an unmissable program.

Serra do Corvo Branco

Serra do Corvo Branco is a work created by men in the middle of nature, forming a path between breathtaking rocks.

Serra do Corvo Branco is easily accessible, it connects the mountains of Santa Catarina to the southern coast of the state, and is 30 km from the center. It’s a road full of curves that passes between two walls, and goes along several cliffs, along the stretch there are breathtaking viewpoints, which make for good photos.

Rock Inscriptions

A place over 4,000 years old, with inscriptions from a people on the walls, telling their story in their own way.

Rock inscriptions are signs left on rocks by ancient people, which can be seen on walls on the Urubici – São Joaquim road, about 8.5 km from the city, it is a historic part of the municipality, which is worth visiting and deciphering .

Trekking

Walks longer than 5 km, lasting more than 24 hours, are the most popular among tourists in the region, after all, spending so much time in nature is a privilege.

Trekking are longer walks, usually done in groups, and lasting more than a day, and the Urubici region is suitable for this type of sport, as it has several routes such as Morro da Igreja – Bom Jardim da Serra, or Morro da Igreja – Cânion Laranjeiras, among others, but remember that to venture into this sport, the best thing to do is to look for a specialized guide.
