With a significant number of beautiful beaches, Florianópolis pleases all styles.

Surfers are guaranteed waves on the eastern beaches, such as Joaquina, Mole and Mozambique.

Families in search of calm waters and busts on the sands find many activities on the northern beaches, such as Canasvieiras, Ingleses, Santinho and Jurerê, the latter being the favorite of the canyons by the stops and nightclubs distributed along the waterfront.

And those who prefer peace and tranquility, in a bucolic and historical climate, have to the southern beaches as the right choices, such as the Ribeirão da Ilha and Pântano do Sul, for ecotourism the beaches of Azores, Morro das Pedras and Shipwrecked, in addition to the rustic and almost deserted, Lagoinha do Leste and Solão.

North Coast

Beach of Canasvieiras

Quiet and clear waters with a small strip of sand, Canasvieiras Beach is the well-known stronghold of Argentines in Florianópolis.

Praia da Cachoeira do Bom Jesus

30 km from the center of Florianópolis, Praia da Cachoeira do Bom Jesus got its name from the waterfall of the same name nearby.

With good tourist infrastructure, Praia da Cachoeira do Bom Jesus is bustling in high season by visitors and downtown by local residents.

The Bom Jesus Waterfall borders the beaches of Canasvieiras and Ponta das Canas and there is no natural physical separation, in this way, there are 10 km uninterrupted of waterfront with fine and hard white sand, ideal for hiking.

The Beach of Cacupé

The country climate makes Cacupé Beach a quiet stronghold in the north bay of Florianópolis.

14 km from the center of Florianópolis, Cacupé Beach is 2,450 meters long, separated by rock formations and small hills, and with this popularly is divided into Cacupé Pequeno and Cacupé Grande.

Cacupé Pequeno: composed of 4 stretches of beaches, totaling 1,800 meters long. Each one is called (unofficially) by the name of the residents who settled there: Praia do Vivino, Praia do Hipólito or das Irmãs, Praia do Zé da Benta and Praia do Teodoro (in the north-south direction).

Cacupé Grande: with 650 meters of extension, has on the beach the mouth of two small streams that are born in Morro do Cacupé.

As a common feature, the beaches have bay sea, with calm waters and weak waves and dark yellow sand with medium texture. The local vegetation is preserved and framed beautiful landscapes.

Cacupé Beach does not have tourist infrastructure and is not very frequented by visitors, only by local residents and fishermen.

Beach of the Jurerê

One of the most famous and trendy Brazilian beaches, Praia do Jurerê integrates tranquility and bustle.

Jurerê, 24 km from the center of Florianópolis, integrates two scenarios in 3,200 meters of extension. In Praia do Jurerê calm waters and fine white sands give the tone of fun for families with children and water sports practitioners.

On the left side of the neighborhood, Jurerê Internacional sofistica the environment with luxurious mansions and many bars, restaurants, stops and beach clubs that shake the waterfront. the Point of Canas

Modern and at the same time traditional: this is Ponta das Canas, the beautiful beach of the north of Florianópolis.

Located 33 km from the center of Florianópolis, Ponta das Canas Beach has a great tourist infrastructure, with hotels, services, hotels and extensive commerce in its 950 meters. Old and modern come together in Praia do Santinho: an archaeological site and a modern hotel complex make the beach one of the most frequented in Florianópolis.

37 km from the center of Florianópolis, Praia do Santinho is 2,200 meters long with a wide strip of fine white sand and strong waves of clear waters framed by much vegetation of Atlantic Forest.

Praia do Santinho is home to the coastal hotel complex of Santinho, luxurious and famous attracts tourists in high and low season. And next to the modern, there is a lot of history, including the one that gave the name to the beach.

From 1970, Praia das Aranhas was called by the local residents of Praia do Santinho, due to a ‘mysterious’ image similar to a saint, carved on a rock near the sea, discovered in that decade. Many legends have emerged, including from witchcraft, leading many to pray for the image asking for protection on the high seas.

With studies, it was verified that this inscription and several others present on the wall of 3 m2, date from more than 5,000 years and thus, the Santinho Beach houses one of the largest archaeological sites with rock art in Santa Catarina stones.

Between one dive and another, or the practice of surfing and bodyboarding, it is worth knowing the cave inscriptions.

the Beach of Daniela

The mangrove framing the tip of sand that advances over the sea. This is the beautiful Daniela Beach.

Located 26 km from the center of Florianópolis, Praia da Daniela offers 3 thousand meters of waterfront, with sea more like a swimming pool of calm and crystal clear waters, ideal for bathing, including small ones.

Beach of the Fort

Santo Antônio de Lisboa Beach

Lots of history, Azorean tradition, good gastronomy and beautiful landscapes is what reserves the Santo Antônio Beach of Lisbon.

17 km from the center of Florianópolis is Santo Antônio de Lisboa, a typical Azorean neighborhood that preserves many customs and traditions of the colonizers, among them architecture and cuisine.

Santo Antônio de Lisboa is urbanized, with good tourist infrastructure and prominence for restaurants that serve fresh and tasty fish and seafood, a result of local economic activity, artisanal fishing.

The beach of Santo Antônio de Lisboa, 750 meters long, has a calm sea, with soft waves, yellowish sand and many points of deságue de riague of the region, not being very attractive for bathing.

The lace is typical Azorean crafts and is found in several stores in the neighborhood of Santo Antônio de Lisboa. It is worth checking out the beautiful and complex work.

Praia da Lagoinha

Located 34 km from the center of Florianópolis, Lagoinha Beach is small, with 680 meters in length, but has great natural beauty.

The name of the place comes from Sambaqui, from the tupi-guarani, ‘month of shells’, which is the deposit of fossilized organic waste, built by ancient inhabitants of the region, which is currently covered by the sands of the beach, being an archaeological site of Santa Catarina.

the East Coast

The Beach of Joaquina

A well-known stronghold of surfers, Praia da Joaquina is the beautiful scenery that hosts sports competitions and many visitors.

Located 18 km from the center of Florianópolis, Joaquina Beach was discovered in the 1970s by surfers who were looking for the perfect waves in the region. They found, then, in Joaca, as is affectionately known Praia da Joaquina, a stronghold of tranquility and strong waves. Currently the beach of 3,000 meters long is the stage of several surfing championships, also housing other sports such as windsurfing and bodyboarding.

In addition to the waters, the sands of Joaquina Beach are also disputed in the summer, by bathers and by sand volleyball, footvolley or by the sandboard, held in the Dunes of Joaquina. The sport, which was born in the region, is the descent of the dunes with a wooden plank similar to that of snowboard, with the same characteristic of providing unique moments to sportsmen and amateurs.

The beach has good infrastructure, being a residential neighborhood with shopping options, bars and restaurants.

Beach Mole

Strong waves of open sea, Mole is one of the most beautiful and dangerous beaches in Florianópolis, sought by surfers and ecotourists.

17 km from the center of Florianópolis, accessed by a trail after the SC 406 highway, where there are nearby parking lots, Praia Mole has a sea of rough and dangerous waters, where care must be redoubled.

With 960 meters of extension, the waterfront of Praia Mole is very frequented by bathers for the good strip of fine and light sand, sea of clear waters, but very hectic and green hills completing the beautiful landscape.

Due to the local geographical feature, the depth of the sea increases abruptly, causing there to be much pull. Because of this, a lot of attention to sea baths.
On the sands, bars by the sea shake the beach day and night.

The hills that surround the beach serve as a ramp and landing site for paragliders, which adorn the sky of the region.

Praia do Gravatá

Deserta and small, Gravatá Beach is little known, which makes it a refuge amidst the agquate of Florianópolis.

Located 17 km from the center of Florianópolis, Praia do Gravatá is small, with only 60 meters of extension and a strip of sand that forms a bay, of calm and cold waters.

Many residents do not know the beach, nor do they know its location, which is between Mole and Joaquina beaches.

The name of the beach comes from the bromeliad popularly known as gravatá, which cover resistant and with thorns charge the stones, giving the place a natural charm.

the Beach Mozambique

Wild, rustic and quiet: this is Mozambique Beach, the largest in Florianópolis.
With a 7.5 km long, Mozambique Beach is part of the Red River Forest Park, which preserves its rusticity. The park is a reserve of approximately 400,000 m2 with predominant vegetation of pine and undergrowths amid the sand dunes.

Without any type of construction, Praia Moçambique is 35 km from the center of Florianopolis. Its icy ocean waters, with strong salinity and violent waves also drive tourists away for bathing, being the ideal place for those who want privacy and are adept at ecotourism.

Its name is due to the mollusk called Mozambique, easily found on the beach, similar to oyster, which can be found in some restaurants in the city. The place is also fed up for those who like artisanal fishing, with siris and fish, such as the tainha.

the Beach of Galheta

Surrounded by hills and native vegetation, the beautiful Galheta Beach is semideserta, a place for naturism fans.

18.7 km from the center of Florianópolis there is a stronghold for naturist lifestyle fans. Praia da Galheta, also called Calheta, is a nudist beach from this to the 1970s.

It accesses a trail of 300 meters amidst the vegetation and rock formations, the landscape compensates for the extensive strip of sand and calm and shallow waters on a 950 meter long waterfront.

The beach belongs to the Municipal Park of Galheta, with a total area of 149.330 hectares of permanent preservation, being prohibited any construction or environmental change. Thus, the beach does not offer tourist infrastructure.

On the beach there are small strands of fresh water that are born from the hill of the Park emprase in Galheta, serving as a great post-beach shower.

Praia Barra da Lagoa

Preserving the Azorean roots, with fishing and the production of braided, Barra da Lagoa Beach brings a lot of history and culture.

Located 20 km from the center of Florianópolis, Barra da Lagoa Beach is the largest fishing nucleus in Santa Catarina Island, with capacity for 50 boats, which supply the restaurants and local houses of fresh and quality fish and seafood.

The 650 meters of the stretch of the beach and the 4.7 km2 of the neighborhood of Barra da Lagoa are privileged by nature, with hills embedded between the ocean and the Conceição Lagoa, which form the Canal da Barra, the only connection of the saltwaters of Lagoa da Conceição with the salty waters of the sea. Due to the current channel, the waters of Barra da Lagoa beach are quieter and have soft waves, attractive to bathers.

Barra da Lagoa was also privileged by the Dunas of Barra da Lagoa, which are listed as Natural and Paisagistic Heritage of Florianópolis. 6.6 hectares form the area of fixed dunes and low-lying furniture, forming a beautiful coastal cord on the seaside that frames the landscape.

Prainha da Barra da Lagoa

Famous for the samba that occurs every Saturday, Prainha da Barra da Lagoa has soft waves, which attract bathers of all generations.

20 km from the center of Florianópolis the only restaurant in Prainha da Barra da Lagoa attracts many visitors every Saturday, due to the traditional quality samba, already famous in the city. In addition to music, traditional seafood is also a highlight of the place.

Also called Prainha do Leste, Prainha Barra da Lagoa is 70 meters long with open sea and calm waters, by the current of the channel located there, and light and fine sands. It is accessed only by a slightly steep, narrow and irregular trail from the Barra da Lagoa channel.

South Coast

With an Azorean village environment, Praia da Armação is a artisanal fishing center and a beautiful setting for surfers.

One of the main artisanal fishing centers of the island, Praia da Armação is located 17 km from the center of Florianópolis and is 3,200 meters long with a wide strip of fine white sand and waters with soft waves to the south and bustling to the north, separating bathers from surfers.

The name of the beach is due to an 18th century construction, called a frame, for fishing and industrialization of whale oil, the main economic activity of the region at the time. With the local movement, in 1772, the Church Sant’Ana was built, in honor of the saint and thus developed the fishing community, which until today has in the artisanal fishing of fish and seafood its greatest activity.

the Beach Matadeiro

With hills around, clear waters and fine sand, Matadeiro Beach is a refuge for those who want peace and quiet.

21 km from the center of Florianópolis, Matadeiro Beach is the way nature has left: only sand, sea and native vegetation. Desert and without tourist infrastructure (only a few rustic bars that serve refreshments and snacks), the beach has access by a trail crossing a small stream, the river Quinca Antônio, which begins in the Peri Lagoon and has the mouth on the beach. Due to the tides, in a few days it is easy to cross the waters of the river and in others the route is more dangerous to reach the Matadeiro.

The name Matadeiro is due to the beach being the place where whales fished for oil extraction were slaughtered in the 18th century.

Currently, the ecotourists who integrate with nature are the frequenters of Praia Matadeiro that is only 850 meters long, but very beautiful.

Beach of the Campeche

Beautiful beach, dunes, paradise island, water sports point and baths, Campeche Beach is the most eclectic beach in Florianópolis.

17 km from the center of Florianópolis, Campeche Beach, with 3,800 meters of waterfront, is between the beaches of Joaquina and Morro das Pedras, which without natural limits, has an extension of 10 km, ideal for long walks.

With open sea of strong waves, the beach is a point of surfers on the south coast, who join the practitioners of other nautical sports such as kayaking and observation diving.

The Campeche is also famous for the Island of the same name, which has a paradise setting, 2 km from the beach. Accessed by tourist vessels, the island is formed by coasts and has a rich ecosystem, preserving many species of flora and fauna and also the historical region, with more than 100 cave inscriptions distributed in 10 archaeological sites. For this importance, the Island of Campeche was listed in 2000 by the Institute of the National Historical and Artistic Heritage – IPHAN as National Archaeological and Landscape Heritage. As heritage, there are rules on the island that must be followed, such as monitoring monitors on all tours.

Another heritage in Campeche Beach is the area of 121 hectares listed as Natural and Landscape Heritage of Florianópolis, consisting of dunes with undergrowth and even native tree, leaving the landscape more beautiful and exotic.
The Campeche Beach also received the illustrious visit of French writer and aviator Antoine de Saint-Exup?ry, whose most famous work is the Little Prince. In the 1920s, Exup?ry called on one of his flights at Campeche and wrote about the region thereafter. It made the beach better known.

Beach Ribeirão da Ilha

Ribeirão da Ilha offers beautiful natural landscape, calm waters and coarse sand, waterfront with Azorean architecture from the 18th and 19th centuries and good restaurants.
26 km from the center, Ribeirão da Ilha was the second Azorean colony to develop on the former island of Desterro, present-day Florianópolis.

Historical, the beach of Ribeirão da Ilha is formed by three small stretches totaling 750 meters of extension. It has calm waters, with soft swell, with thick sand of broken shells, ideal for hiking.

The neighborhood has this name due to a creek of Morro da Cabeça do Macaco, the tallest in Florianópolis with 530 meters, which flows in Praia do Saco, 3 km from Ribeirão da Ilha.

Traditional fishing combined with the cultivation of seafood, making gastronomy develop in the region. Good restaurants serve dishes based on fish and seafood, fresh and tasty, great choice for meals are the oysters produced on site.
The typical Portuguese rents, such as the bobbil, are exhibited in the handicraft shops of the Ribeirão da Ilha, a typical souvenir of the place.

Beach of Morro das Pedras

Retub of surfers on the south coast, Praia do Morro das Pedras preserves the environment with many natural beauties.

Located 9.6 km from the center of Florianópolis, Praia do Morro das Pedras is next to the beaches of Joaquina and Campeche and because it does not have geographical divisions, totals a waterfront of 10 km long, ideal for long walks amidst the natural beauty of the place.
With a length of 2,450 meters and a wide strip of light and fluffy sand, Praia do Morro das Pedras has a busy sea, ideal for surfing and other water sports.

It has no tourist infrastructure. At the top of the hill a Jesuit construction of local stones stands out. Currently the Casa de Retiro Vila Fátima operates and has a beautiful viewpoint with panoramic views of the region.

Beach of the Azores

Surrounded by hills, with a beautiful beach and views of the islands of the region, Praia dos Açores is perfect for lovers of ecotourism.

A distance of 31 km from the center of Florianópolis, Praia dos Açores has blue, cold, bustling and strong water, being very sought after by surfers.

Praia dos Açores is surrounded by the hills of the Swamp, Costa de Dentro, Trombudo and Córrego dos Naufragados, making the perfect point for trekkings amidst the preserved Atlantic Forest, with many trails for beautiful points.

With no natural division of Praia Pântano do Sul, the length of the waterfront is extended, with about 3 km, allowing walks over long distances.

Beach Panoman of the South

The tranquility of fishing village, historical by the sambaquis and agitated by gastronomy: thus is Pântano do Sul, a beautiful mixture of ancient and modern.
Located 28 km from the center of Florianópolis, Praia Pântano do Sul is the largest and most traditional fishing colony on the island, with about 3 km in length, being the waters colored by the boats that very early leave for the high seas.

The beach is not attractive for bathing, but the area protected by Morro do Ptano, also called the cemetery hill, forms a small cove, where the sea is calm and gradually gains depth, being frequented by bathers.

Due to the fishing of the lingaf, mangona cation, grouper, seabell, shrimps and lobsters, the beach has on the edge many bars and restaurants specializing in fish and seafood, which served freshly has excellent quality.

The historical part of the South Swamp is formed by sambaquis, which are deposits of shells, organic waste and skeletons of ancient tribes that inhabited the region approximately 4,500 years ago, being an important archaeological site on the island.

Filled with white sand, clear waters and green hills of Atlantic Forest. The name already indicates: Praia da Solão is almost deserted, refuge of tranquility.

Beach Shipwrecked

Naufragados Beach, semideserta, offers ecotourism and camping for lifestyle fans.

38 km from the center of Florianópolis, Naufragados has difficult access, due to a mass of hills that does not allow the traffic of vehicles. To reach the beach you need to walk a rugged trail of about 40 minutes walk from Caieira da Barra do Sul. Due to this, the beach is frequented by lovers of trekking and campers who seek integration with nature.

The 1,450 meters of waterfront has sea of strong waves and fine white sand and is great for water sports. In its waters are often seen dolphins, which playful, draw the attention of visitors.

The region of Naufragados belongs to the preservation area of the Tabuleiro State Park and only a few wooden houses form a small community, where restaurants that serve typical dishes of the region, mainly the basis of oysters, operate.
The Three Sisters, Southern Moleques and Araçatuba Islands, in addition to Ponta dos Papagaios, in the municipality of Palhoça, complete the beautiful landscape of the Shipwrecked Beach.

Beach, coast, native forests, lagoon and waterfall: Praia Lagoinha do Leste is deserted and with many ecotourism options.

Located 31 km from the center of Florianópolis, Lagoinha do Leste Beach has access only via trails. There are two: the fastest trails last an average of 1 hour and leaves the beach Panoto do Sul, and is easy to travel despite the stones and closed forest. After climbing, there is a beautiful lookout from where you can see the region. The other trail leaves Praia do Matadeiro and is longer and more difficult, with steeper climbs and many stones. It lasts about 3 hours.

The small cove of Lagoinha do Leste is 1,200 meters long and is surrounded by hills and coasts, which offer greater privacy. Sweet and salty waters mix on the beach, as there is a lagoon formed from rivers of Morro do Matadeiro, which follow to the sea by a stream. The rivers, before flowing into the lagoon, form small waterfalls that are also attractive of the place.

The Praia da Lagoinha do Leste, at some times, has the occurrence of a rare phenomenon, which is the abundance of bioluminescent plankton (phosphorescent agaosga) that make the water shine at night, leaving the magic climate.

From 1992, the region of Lagoinha do Leste was decreed a preservation area with the creation of the Municipal Park of Lagoinha do Leste, with 453 hectares with many options for trekking and observation of the Atlantic Forest, one of the last conserved spaces of this biome in Florianópolis.
