A young American woman was at risk of no longer walking and almost died, due to overdoing her exercises without professional support.
Everyone should practice some type of physical activity, as they provide countless benefits to the health of the body and mind. However, overdoing the exercises and throwing yourself headlong into any modality are attitudes that, despite good intentions, can have very bad consequences.
This is why there is a recommendation to see a doctor for an evaluation before starting to practice any sport or abandoning a sedentary lifestyle in any way.

A good example that working out on your own and that overdoing it with physical exercise can be harmful is the story of Casey Daniel, a young woman from Los Angeles, in the United States.
Casey, like most women, has always been looking for the perfect body, to lose a few pounds and get “everything in its place” and that’s why she decided to look for a gym and sign up for spinning classes.
Intense pain
On the second day of class, however, he began to feel severe pain in his leg. According to her, the feeling was that a bus had passed by the members.
Although it’s common to feel body aches soon after starting some type of exercise, Casey’s pain didn’t seem like simple muscle pain. Things started to get really worrying when the pain in her legs became more intense, until she was hospitalized.
The price of overdoing exercise

At the hospital she discovered that she was suffering from rhabdomyolysis, a serious rupture of the muscle, which releases a protein that harms the blood. This usually happens when you do too much physical exercise.
The young woman underwent urgent surgery, with the risk of not being able to walk any further or even dying.
The recovery
Today Casey Daniel still does physiotherapy sessions for recovery, he lost his job because he needed a lot of care and rest. He lives off donations from people who were moved by his story.
