Health

Want to lose weight? This tea prevents you from accumulating fat on your hips and belly and also fights against swelling and premature aging.

It’s no magic, but this trick can really help you lose weight. In fact, according to recent studies, they show that hibiscus tea (that’s right, the famous one) is a great help if your mission is to avoid accumulating fat on your hips and belly.

The secret to this miraculous tea, according to those who understand the subject, lies in the polyphenols, found in large quantities in hibiscus. For those who don’t know what we’re talking about, polyphenols are chemical substances present in plants, resulting from the metabolic processes they go through, generally to create defenses against ultraviolet radiation or aggression by predators.

Among the many recently discovered benefits of these substances to human health are their antioxidant action and, as we have already mentioned, the power to prevent us from accumulating fat, especially the dreaded localized fat.

Potential of not accumulating fat and other “things”

But not only that. Hibiscus tea is also rich in vitamin A, vitamin C and zinc, as well as vitamin B1 and iron. This, of course, not to mention that if consumed without sugar, hibiscus tea is very low in calories and helps control fluid retention.

In recent research, published in the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine, 53 diabetics – mostly women – spent a month drinking two cups of hibiscus tea or black tea.

In the group that consumed hibiscus periodically, an average reduction of 7.6% in total cholesterol was noted, 8% in cholesterol considered bad, LDL; and 14.9% in triglycerides. On the other hand, HDL cholesterol, considered good cholesterol, increased by 16.7%.

Another study further showed that hibiscus tea also effectively reduced the harmful effects of a high-fat diet. According to a publication in the journal Medical Hypotheses, hibiscus tea can block adipogenesis, the body’s ability to generate new fat cells responsible for storing fat.

For researchers, regular consumption of hibiscus extract can also reduce obesity and improve liver function.
