The trendy Italian Rocco: new restaurant in Lisbon

Europe

On my last visit to the Portuguese capital, I went to see Rocco, which is located in Chiado, inside the luxury hotel The Ivens, in a historic building. With Italian and Mediterranean influences, and following the cosmopolitan trend of lifestyle restaurants, it has several environments, all with beautiful decor and full of personality. In other words, there is no shortage of Instagrammable corners in this new restaurant in Lisbon! Furthermore, the cuisine is of the highest quality. Therefore, it’s worth putting it on your list now! Take the opportunity to also read about Encanto, chef José Avillez’s vegetarian restaurant.

New restaurant in Lisbon

Decorated by renowned interior designer Lázaro Rosa-Violán, Rocco has three environments: Gastrobar, Crudo bar and Ristorante. The stunning bar is in the center, a majestic counter with 17 seats, featuring velvet, strong colors and floral motifs. At the Crudo bar, in the shape of an amphitheater, fish and seafood come out very fresh from the counter. And the main room at the Ristorante has a warm and cozy atmosphere, in wooden tones, in addition to the open kitchen.

Climbing the black marble staircase, we reach the bathroom, with the sinks also in marble and flowery tiles. Certainly one of the most beautiful and different bathrooms I’ve ever been to!

Rocco’s menu

In the menu, created by chef Ricardo Bolas, Italian, sea and Portuguese flavors are the protagonists. There are options such as, for example, Italian antipasti, pasta, seafood and also meat. We tried the very well seasoned steak tartare in front of us, and for main I chose the genuine crab ravioli.

The soft profiteroles, by patissier chef Clayton Ferreira, ended the impeccable dinner. Meanwhile, the friendly Brazilian sommelier helped with the right choice of wines and we tasted a Portuguese Syrah and Pinot Noir.

Therefore, a lively restaurant in Lisbon that deserves your visit.
